Body lift:
You are not messing with your vehicle's suspension calibration. So if you're happy with the current ride, you will still maintain it after the lift unless you added significantly larger tires.
As long as the lift is less then 2", it's pretty straightforward. You do have to change radiator mountings (lower it) and some vehicles may require steering shaft and brake line mods.
Suspension lift:
If you're going off-road, this is the way to go. You can change to stiffer and stronger components to compensate for the bigger tires and hard usage.
However, ride quality may suffer due to improper tuning.

Body Lifts:
1 ) Much cheaper than suspension mods. (Another term for body lift is "The Poor Man's Lift")
2 ) A 20-30mm body lift is still safe and mostly done on our locally sold 4X4 pick-ups and trucks.
3 ) Stock ride can and will still be available.
4 ) A lot of engine compartment mods.
5 ) Prone to body squeaking and squeals if not done properly.
6 ) It takes up a large amount of time to perform.
7 ) There is a risk that stick trannys will have to be adjusted or additional body holes to be performed.
8 ) Body lifts should be done after suspension mods if the owner wants more ground clearance. (Hence, by the name, only the body will be lifted not the under chassis parts which is more prone to damages)
Suspension Lifts:
1 ) Much firmer (sometimes harsher ride) than stock suspension settings.
2 ) If not tuned properly, this could do drastic accidents.
3 ) Do not expect a softer ride if the vehicle is lifted. But it will perform much firmer and road handling will improve.
4 ) Advantage ground clearance with majority of underchassis parts lifted.
5 ) There are many brands with different lift options to choose from.
6 ) An average suspension UPGRADE not lift will start at around 30K (4 shocks and 4 coils it will only restore the original suspension stand)
7 ) No body squeaks, the vehicle can still maintain it's original body-to-chassis stance.
8 ) Mas maganda pag suspension lifted kitang-kita agad ang modifications, pag body lift di gaanong halata from an untrained eyes.
9 ) There are unlimited options and ride comfort with suspension.
10) Most major suspension shops prefer suspension adjustments than body lift job orders.
11) Downtime for suspension mods could only take even half of the day while body lifts will take atleast a week. (Most engine compartment parts will have to be checked thoroughly to ensure that it runs as smooth as before)

:idea: oo nga pala, body lift pala yun. mas mahirap bang gawin ang body lift kesa suspension lift? kapag body lift parang ihihiwalay mo yung body sa chassis?

Yup, hihiwalay ang body sa chassis. Pero aangatin lang naman para maisingit ang spacer. Hindi kailangan hiwalayin ng magkalayo talaga. Sa mga Pajero straightforward lang ang body lift. Mahirap lang tanggalin yung ibang body mounts (walo ata ang total). Basta may jack ka and tools.
