mali yata.
ang 6 wheeler is 6x4. 4 wheels at the back are driving wheels.
ang 10 wheeler, may 10x 4, may 10x8. 4 or 8 wheels at the back are driving wheels, depende sa use. road vehicles will be 10x4, off-road (like ones used in mining and forestry) are usually 10x8.
army truck are 6x6 (tama sabi ni vinj), the 2 wheels in front and the 4 wheels at the back are driving wheels.

i think its its not the number of tires that is counted. like sa 10-wheeler its a 6x4, pag double diffs sa rear. ang dualie sa states they call it 4x4 dualie, but it has six tires. the canter na 4wd 4x4 tawag also but some has six tires also.

It's the number of driven axles na ang binibiang pagdating sa mga multi-tired axles.
Pero siyempre nakasanayan na natin ang 6x6 so it stayed.

August 11th, 2003 01:37 AM #6Dual tires are counted as one so a 3 live-axle truck with 10 tires is just a 6x6.
A typical U.S. 10-wheeler tractor head from Kenworth or Peterbilt is a 6x4 while an Oshkosh tank puller with 4 live axles (twin-steer) is an 8x8.
My dual tire 2 live-axle Canter is just a 4x4.

August 11th, 2003 12:07 PM #7Many 10-wheeler Japanese cargo or straight trucks are just 6x2-- 10 tires total but just 1 live axle with 2 dead axles.
This dumb configuration is almost non-existent in North America because trucks like these are prone to getting stuck even with just inclement weather.
