March 28th, 2005 12:46 PM #1Hello Everyone,
We recently acquired a 2nd Generation Pajero 2500 Diesel (local) and although it looks fresh in and out, I'm sure there a lot things to check and get fixed.
Last Holy Week, I drove the car to Clark with my family and notice few things.
- consumes a lot of gas, cost me 800 round trip.
- when i step on the brake, i can feel some sort of a wavey vibration.
- very dark smoke coming out of the muffler
- thermometer backlight is busted
- 4WD light indicator in the panel is busted as well.. 3 out of 4 lits..
- when I switch to 4WD, the 4WD indicator blinks non-stop and shows that central differential is locked while IT IS NOT.
any ideas? Thanks!

-the wavy vibration...either due to the road, or your brake rotors need refacing
-dark smoke - nothing regular pms wouldn't be able to take care of, and dun mo malalaman if it needs to have parts replaced
-backlight, pwede raw DIY yan, or you can have eldorado do that for you (aurora branch has mechanics sa store mismo)
-same thing with the lights indicator
-4wd...sorry bro, no clue on this one, dehins ako 4x4 eh
let's wait for additional posts from the other pajero guys here :D

Vibration - as sir N93 says, rotor disc need to reface, pati likod pa re-face mo na or kung me tama na malalim na, change the rotor disc (Ouch)
Backlight - madali lang yan, you can even change the bulb into colored one.(blue, green red)

Standard price for refacing of warped rotor is 900 pesos per piece.
Black smoke be specific as to the conditions when this was encountered.
High gas consumption be specific also, express this on language tsikot people understand such as li/km, normally 7 to 8 li/km is pretty standard i read previously.
Calibration cost depend on work to be done, around 8Kpesos kung major calibration job.

black smoke is common especially when u floor it. change oil, oil filter n fuel filter. if still black, nozzle tips and calibration.
The 12-month warranty on the factory battery ended a few days ago. SOH is still good at over 90%,...
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
