Not a big deal coz I wouldn't trust any kind of FSD on our roads anyway. Yung AEB nga ng Alphard lakas mag brake whenever a motorcycle cuts across you.

Plus ADAS features on newer cars are starting to default on with every start.

    HE LIED!

FSD (Full Self Driving) was clearly NOT ACTIVATED as seen on his video.

He actually used ‘Autopilot’ (which is the equivalent of ADAS in ICE cars) and deactivated it just right before hitting the imaginary wall.

It was a smear campaign to promote his friends Lidar product ‘Luminar’ whose stock value spiked right after releasing his “review”.

He was riding on the ongoing Tesla hate and thought he could get away with it.

It’s called SLANDER, and he needs to lawyer up!

In one of Jay Leno’s vlogs, he invited Tesla’s design engineers and raised the same question.

In laymen’s terms, Lidar/radar is akin to a blind man feeling his way around, the best systems could make them like Daredevil.

Human eyes, full all around vision, a smart brain gives you better situational awareness than the best sensors. That’s what Tesla is trying to replicate - human vision + brains (AI).

The Tesla car now is basically a robot on wheels.

IMO it's a cost cutting measure and they are hoping that their continued work on the camera side of things will make up for the reduced hardware capabilities otherwise they wouldn't have reintroduced radar in the more expensive Model S/X but not the cheaper Y/3 with the HW4.0 MCU revision if a camera-only setup is indeed better than having radar.

Humans could and do make use additional sensors to augment existing "equipment" to one's advantage. Night time flights would be suspended at the first sign of clouds if pilots would solely rely on their vision.

One thing's for sure, he got a lot of backlash from that video.

I agree that it's likely a cost cutting measure.

If you think about it though, how many times will one encounter a Wile E. Coyote type wall in real life?

Just to add - human vision + brains and intuition.
