September 13th, 2012 09:12 PM #1Hi Guys,
The Nissan Patrol is considered one of the toughest cars in the industry di ba?
I noticed na mura na lang yung mga Patrol na 1994 or similar model... OK pa bang bilhin yung mga ito dahil talagang matibay sila or are we expecting a lot of headaches (marami nang malapit masira na parts, mahal na parts, hirap hanapin, etc.) Malakas ba ito sa fuel as compared to its newer models? Kasi the older models are known not to be as fuel efficient, pero the new models naman have such big engines, So anong masmalakas magconsume? Thanks

September 14th, 2012 10:31 AM #2Based on experience okay pa din bumili as long as you can set aside an amount for maintenance. Problematic sa old patrol ang turbo. Sirain sya. And to replace it will cost you around 100K brand new. Pa-repair mo naman butas din bulsa mo to the tune of 25 to 30K.
Fuel consumption ranges from 4 to 6 Km./ liter, upper range kung hiway driving.
Good luck sa balak mo...

if you're talking about the 94 model, TD42 ang engine nya, so far the local version has no built in turbocharger.
anyways, if you're eyeing for one, make sure well maintained yung makukuha mo.. last time when we sold ours, the main reason din was, medyo humihina na makina, parang wala na galit yung hatak nya. poor maintenance yung main reason i believe, kasi kung saan saan namin pinapa change oil.. prior to solding it, pinaayos pa namin lahat ng problem sa nissan mismo, pero parang wala pa rin masyado inprovement.. i don't know if nakapag contribute din yung hindi namin sya masyado binibigyan ng mabibigat na trabaho (yung tipong pang malayuan na byahe or something like that).. just my 2 cents
otherwise, its a great SUV, matibay kaha, malakas din pang banggaan. nung presidente pa si FVR noon, mga PSG convoy nya lahat naka safari.. machong macho talaga

September 15th, 2012 12:10 PM #44 to 6 km/L, is this gas or diesel? Yung mga bagong models ba with their V6 engines, produces better mileage or the same lang kaya?

Walang gas engine ang local patrol na 1994 model. (GQ model / Y60)
The local GU/Y61 model (2000-present) sports 3.0 4 cylinder in-line diesel engine and a 4.8 liter 6 cylinder in-line gas engine. There's no V6 option for the local GU. FC of the diesel is around 5-7 km/L, not sure about the gas engine.
The latest model, Safari Royale (Y62), has only one engine option, a 5.6 liter V8 gas engine. No idea on the FC of this engine.Signature
I am currently observing the 2SM battery installed on my MU-X, Yuasa brand. Kaka 1 yr lang nito...
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
