It's not a transmission problem ... one just has to learn how to drive DCTs properly ...

Not sure if you think the jerkiness of the Ecosport's DCT is not a problem. You even commented about it on the Ecosport thread here in tsikot.

This is true. At least I can use the discount to add to my budget for the leather seats. Thanks.

    Thanks for the confirmation, Aar0nix.

When the Fortuner came out, everyone was complaining about the ride. Since this is not prevalent with the Juke, I would say that the ride is not too bad or is easily overlooked. Or there aren't that many Juke owners yet. hehe.

This still does not dampen my desire to own one. I hope my wife won't blame me later on. Hehe.

    Thanks again!

Yeah, was also ignorant about DCTs before ... the Ford Fiesta DCT really had issues ... they have mostly sorted it out with the Ford Ecosport ...

Thanks sa tip, Aar0nix. I will do this and ask the other Juke owners regarding the ride.

    Got my Juke last Saturday.
Then on Sunday, I, together with four passengers (parents with average weight and two kids), went to Baguio for the blessing and at the same time test its engine performance.

    A couple of observations:
    -struggles going uphill
-sluggish acceleration especially right after braking (not sure if it has to do with the CVT issue)

Nonetheless, great handling experience. A nice car for city driving.

It's the engine sir. The 1.6L NA lump they put in is underpowered for highway use. But for the city it is enough. Gives good fc too. Output is 116 hp/154 Nm.

In other markets the 1.6L is turbocharged and makes 197 hp/250 Nm. There is also a 1.5L diesel that makes 109 hp/240 Nm.

The thing is, I also have Swift 1.2 /AT. Although both have acceleration issues, my observation is that Swift 1.2 has better throttle response.

Nissan Juke :)
