The past LEAFs have had horrible battery degradation compared to Tesla. Wonder if this has been addressed.

it seems that the battery in the newer leafs have better chemistry against degradation (and being bigger in capacity helps as well) much so that there is a market in retrofitting them into the past leafs. The Current leafs still uses the same non-airconditioned passive cooling from the previous leaf and not the liquid cooling used in the tesla nor the AC assisted approach in other EVs so its probably still worse than the tesla in degradation.

More expensive than a BMW 118i or Mercedes A180
Its electric though, and that is a game changer
But brand conscious buyers will inevitably go for the two German brands

May 10th, 2021 10:03 PM #24Price is kind of a downer.
I know we had 2 rumors about it. 1 being 1.8 to 2m while the other is around this actual price of 2.8m
But, there is really no point/advantage to getting electric at all at that price as it isn't even competitive with that proposition as it is a compact size.
I can only imagine people who get it want to "Virtue Signal" how green they are, but that will also show how "smart" they are with their money (or their parents)
No matter how you slice it, it doesnt make sense to even consider it.

May 10th, 2021 10:18 PM #25Good luck talaga sa Nissan with the 2.8M leaf.
Just found out that the Prius was zero sales for 2019 and 2020. What more sa Leaf...

May 10th, 2021 11:28 PM #26Nissan PH is taking a huge gamble with I.C.E. cars.
PH is not even ready yet for EVs.
I think only EV enthusiasts or the ones loves to own and drive an electric car would like be the prospects of the LEAF.

Actually a major limitation of electric cars is condo buyers cant charge their cars at home. Im pretty sure most condos dont have stub outs for it and obviously it complicates the electricity fees of the homeowners.
Those who live in townhouses and single detached houses can just retrofit one.
We are adding car charging stub outs on the houses we are designing now though.
A Tesla model S charger needs a 60A breaker for reference
