March 15th, 2009 02:08 AM #1702hi guys, my SA delivered my MS 4x2 today sa bahay, red sya. wanted to share some pics sana, kaya lang i dont know how to attach here. anyway, i'm very pleased with my MS and i must say that its worth every cent.
question lang po,
1. is it true that i cannot run my MS more than 100km/hr if it has not yet reached its first 1,000km? and completed its first pm?
2. what type of oil do i need to use for my first 1,000km pm? i was told that i should not use synthetic oil.
3. what are the do's and dont's during the break-in period? what do i need to look out for?
pasensya na po sa mga questions na 'to, this is my first brand new vehicle kasi.
thanks in advance..
best regards,
howie

sir howie, congrats po for your new purchase!
im sure the monty will work fine for you.
pls. click on the link for posting pictures:

to answer your questions: --AFAIK (as far as i know)--
according to the manual, it is ideal to maintain speeds below 100kph for the break in period. however, some MS owners here did otherwise and (i think) they haven't reported any problems after doing so. feel free to back read about 20-35 pages of this thread to find out po. You can also refer to the owner's manual for other Do's and Don'ts for the break-in period and PMS details.
pls. click on the link for the Montero Sport PMS thread:

i hope this helps... thanks.

what i'm sure about is with the stalk- pareho for all the Montero Sport Line-up (take note: 2.5 GLS 4x2, 3.2 GLS 4x4 and 3.2 GLS SE 4x4) pati sa Strada! if you can look closely at the ring to twist upward and downward, there are two arrowheads. twist it upward once will turn on the front foglamp and the second time will turn on the second foglamp. this is vice versa with turning it off by twisting it downwards.
as far as the wiring goes, i will let the monty owners answer that... some of them might have gone to the bone to check the wirings... hehehe... thanks
tonneau cover you mean? so far wala pa yata. this feature is very useful with my Space Wagon and im sure its useful for the Outie Users as well.Last edited by ianmitsulancer; March 15th, 2009 at 02:48 AM.

March 15th, 2009 10:22 AM #1705Same price I paid for the 1k PMS at Kar Asia. However, hanggang change oil (synthetic) and filter lang. I noticed higher ang price ng oil and oil filter. Makes me think about supplying my own oil (I can get higher/better specs than the xp turbo) and also get the orig oil filters in Mitsu Casas in Manila.
Can someone advice me ano ang high, low and fog lamp types (h3, h4, h11, etc) ng MS? I read it somewhere in this thread pero hindi ko na mahanap. I dont have access to my owner's manual as I am out of town and planning to buy some HID lamps. Plano ko HID for high beam and fog lang kasi I find it weak when you turn it on sa dark and hilly roads going to and from gensan.
Thanks in advance

ok lang naman kung magkakamukha mga units natin eh.. sa gls se, yung "SE" and yung sa left na rear light lang naman ang difference eh compared sa gls.. yung sa 4x2 and 4x4, if it's really identical sa exterior, ok lang din yun i guess
It's better to have a montero with similar looking variants than not have a montero at all

March 15th, 2009 05:18 PM #1707tsk tsk. and people thought getting a diesel suv is always cheaper in the long run. i had a santa fe for 2 years now, my first crdi. pero pag-kinompute ko talaga cost ng PMS vs. a 3rd gen CRV ng cousin ko. talagang i'm going to pay more.
anyway, hindi kayo nag-iisa. malamang mga naka-fortuner na diesel ganyan din inuubos.

March 16th, 2009 01:43 AM #1709Hi Outcast,
Thanks for the info. I'm thinking of putting 4300k for hi beam as it gives better visibility at night, raining or foggy conditions. Had used superwhite halogens before and it really do not fit into those driving conditions. Any comments or suggestions?
TIA
