Our previous gen Montero now has a Pioneer HU. We had to upgrade the speakers though because they were too low power in rating and the Pioneer would output higher than they could handle. Hehe! No GPS though now for the HU but we've mainly relied on Google Maps and not the built in GPS Navigation anyway.

Don't know if the current gen Montero has "better" quality speakers now. The previous gen's stock speakers were, for lack of a better word, anemic to say the least
