February 15th, 2022 08:23 AM #162i agree with the trend of the comments from viewers of the video there.
in fairness,
hindi naman lahat nang reviews ng mirage are negative.
but when i first saw doug demuro's mirage review/bash,
i thought,
"... seems like someone went out of his way to ..."
doug drives a G500, among others.
my take on the mirage (which i confess i have only read about),
"good basic car, but if you want luxury, there are other choices."
my opinion.Last edited by dr. d; February 15th, 2022 at 10:20 AM.

February 15th, 2022 01:19 PM #163Comment ko lang about the Mirage (hatchback), I remember yung flyers from the dealer, capable of 165kph top speed daw.
Possible kaya talaga in real world conditions? 1.2 engine for a small, light vehicle na driver only + no cargo, pag absolute redline perhaps...
I liked yung histura nung luma though (6th gen prior to facelift, 2012 ata) na walang grille, parang slit lang yung intake sa taas.

February 15th, 2022 01:30 PM #164Hindi naman questionable ang capabilities ng Mirage. Most of the negative reviews ay regarding its lack of refinement. Road noise, plasticky interior, steering that lacks feedback, circa 90s look. Effortless naman ang pag accelerate once you're on the highway pero when starting from zero medyo matagal na hintayan bago bumilis.

Rear springs are too soft but KYB has stock height springs for the Mirage. For more load carrying capacity. Hindi na dapa pag loaded with these springs.

February 15th, 2022 01:35 PM #166My brother-in-law let me borrow their Mirage (2012) HB back in 2018 in Cebu. I found a stretch of road and immediately floored the accelerator and got... Nothing. I'm sure it can reach 165kph, but the question is when will it reach it and does the Philippines have that long a stretch of good road?

February 15th, 2022 01:51 PM #167I don't own one, and I'm not defending the Mirage, but... baka maling kotse naman ata binili nila?
If they want refinement, low road noise, etc., they ought to be buying a more capable car.
Baka CVT trans?
Pag CVTs may lag talaga, kumbaga sa aircon/ref naka "inverter"- thats the trade off for economy/efficiency, pero pag M/T and tama yung timing ng shifting sa powerband baka OK naman.

From another famous Tsikoteer who had a Mirage, he got it to 150kmh and I guess 165kmh is achievable.
A turbocharged 1.2L would make it a lot sportier. The Fiesta with its 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo has no problems doing 180kmh on open roads.
