Thanks for the link! I was wondering why Mitsubishi would develop a user's manual without this vital information.

^ actually there's a "chapter" of the pms sched in the unit's service and warranty booklet although it's not illustrated as clearly as the ones posted above. hindi siya done in chart form kaya siguro hindi pansinin .

Regarding the inhibitor switch of the auto tranny, where is it located under the Gen 2 Montero? Aside from age, what else can cause the part to fail? Will it be damaged by water immersion, like when you have to cross deep water (higher than the fording depth in the manual of half a meter)?

check out videos in YT, a lot of them doing d-i-y cleaning. most common issue is dirty switch. if you happen to encounter blinking gear, that's probably the inhibitor switch. pre-2012 models had those issues. Zix performance shop can diagnose if it needs replacement or do the cleaning for you...

A supplier is offering this for my oil change:

Wouldn't it be more suitable for our conditions to use 5W40? I'm not that familiar with the performance and capabilities of fully synthetic engine oils so I'd like to get the opinion of the experts here.

How often do you need to change fully synthetic oil? Same as prescribed by Mitsubishi or they can be used for longer?

i used to own a 2012 montero vgt for 82t kms. in all honesty i cannot tell the difference between 5w-30 and 5w-40. so in this regard to me they are practically the same.

i have also not encountered problems with 10kms oil changes used with a reasonably cheap synthetic (e.g. zic, xsteer, kixx) and a good filter however i live in the province so the montero then does not get to see bumper to bumper traffic ala edsa on a daily basis.
