Stuck? Seized?
Use some heavy penetrating oil... you need this for old cars.
I have liquid wrench.. but never had to use it yet.

April 27th, 2020 02:15 PM #5I don't know but sometime i had my car "tuned up" properly with a timing light. Mechanic set the timing to the correct mark. But the car seems not running well with the correct timing.. so i ended up using tanchameter to my liking..

April 27th, 2020 02:31 PM #8Same here.
Nag advance sya using tanchameter. Ganda ng takbo. Then he went south. Pagdating sa sucat, tirik makina. Tumalon at naputol timing belt.

April 27th, 2020 04:38 PM #10is it possible,
timing belt frayed, resulting in timing gear teeth jumping out of position,
resulting in poor engine performance.
timing reset by twirling the distributor, somehow remedied it for a while.
then belt finally snapped.
tirik engine.
in some engine designs,
cylinder head, valves and seats, and pistons, are designed in such a way, that no metal will clash against another (valves versus pistons), when the timing belt/chain breaks.
my sentra engine is like that.
what is that term?Last edited by dr. d; April 27th, 2020 at 04:43 PM.
Will wonders never cease with Motolite? Ha ha.
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
