    Hello Sir,

I think you feel offended kasi ikaw ang nag post ng link tungkol sa "review" ng AI?!
Nope... I wasn't offended at all.

backread the past pages and dami kong na-cite about the vehicle
Yes, it's true but what I am implying here is, can you just appreciate a review from other people?

What you said were subjective data's. However, I think a professional reviewer would point a mixed subjective and objective review.

I'm not an official online car test driver that posts on automotive websites as my profession.
Your initial post seemed to me that you are a reviewer/journalist in Bangkok because you were scheduled for a 3 day test drive. My apologies.

In the defense of my friend and kapwa driver na si Sir Auto.

    1) tama nga, were just ordinary motorist. We're not auto columnist which is a good thing because were not easily sold by propaganda or hypes.

    2) everyone's review is subjective, even the "professional auto columnist."

    3) I think the reason why sir Auto was talking about the "cons" of the 08 Lancer was because when we were in Bangkok everyone was raving about the Lancer to the point na akala mo they've driven in it already?

    4) the Lancer is an awesome looking vehicle outside I'll give you that. But that's just looking at the obvious and a no-brainer.

    5) eto naman ang simple and short personal take ko sa Lancer. I drove the GTS model.

    a) great looks
    b) nice interior if not for some cheap plastics on the side.
    c) great entertainment system sayang about the internal hardrive nga. Copy and paste wala man lang optional usb drive or removable hdrive for less hassle. Sound system is excellent. Another gripe about sa audio system is if you're planning to change or upgrade it, goodluck in trying to saw off the dashboard. The GTS has a touch screen monitor and bluetooth.
    d) the handling is good but not as good as the civic nor the mazda 3. I think it has to do with it's size. Nice 18" rims though.
e)speaking of size, this is one big a$$ compact sedan. It reminded me of a fat Mazda6.
    f) tama, it's a cruising car. No gut-wrenching acceleration. Just smooth cruising. That was a let-down for me since that had a sporty theme sedan going very well. Sana di ako ma-dissapoint sa EvoX ko in the long run.
g)hands down, this will surely outsale the "new" altis. It's better looking, bigger, better equipped and worth your money in terms of the competing brand being around P70k cheaper but comes very short in overall packaging.
h)I managed the GTS ko get me upto 190kph+. Pretty sure it can go faster but didn't want to push it. Acceleration took awhile though. Great noise insulation. I don't know if it was because of the design or I had the stereo sound too high.

    GET THE COLOR RED!!!

ouch! flames too hot. me got burned.

and in the defense of tol drey:

there are some factors that contribute to having inconsistent numbers which include driver related factors, such as a heavy foot.

cornering: ever tried downshifting or braking at all? i mean, they wouldn't have tuned the suspension in germany if it doesn't handle well.

acceleration: do you have any idea of how much gadgetry, emission regulating devices and german body/chassis is incorporated in the car which contributes to your claimed hp output? for a euro III car, you should be grateful to even reach those numbers

safety: 7 airbags, are you kiddin' me? rigidity is vital so much so on motorsports. that's why we have rollcages on rally cars, touring cars even F1's.

lancer craze?: well, you should see the guys who fell for the ongoing civic when it was launched. atleast, mitsubishi is pretty modest in terms of commercializing here

    Huh???

safety: it's SHOULD be that safe considering you're shelling out almost 1.2mil pesos for it. Other cars can be as equally equipped as this lancer the only difference is their marketing strategy. Most sedans nowadays at that price range come with multiple airbags. In the Phils specially we are notorious for having ill-equipped cars considering were paying the same price range tax included among other countries that have all the equipment.

cornering: yes tried that even lashing the car in reverse hitting the hand brake and pointing it forward. Before the car was handed to us there were some local test drivers who gave us a taste on a vacant factory lot. Even those "test drivers" preferred the civic or mz3. On few occassions when we suddenly brake then accelerate we will feel a small lag na ala turbo lag ang feeling. What do you actually mean when they said the suspsnsion is "tuned." All manufacturers will of course say that specially on their top end model to make it sound more road worthy.

acceleration: I've seen and driven other cars of the same or smaller displacement which are euro 4 compliant that pack more hp and is either lighter or heavier than the 08 lancer. They now implement a Euro 5-6 standard.

lancer craze: there's not much hype because there's no ad to be excited about, yet.

The only thing I can agree w/ you is the fuel economy. Lots of factors there, driving habit, landscape, traffic, w/ a/c on or just open windows.

Still, this lancer will sell well. All it needs is just one car to be seen on the road passively advertising that the 08 lancer has arrived as in now on sale. At least, on our side, we HAVE driven the lancer.... have you?
Just a question, no offense on that. If you have driven a lancer, pls add your findings weather it be negative or positive. This is a public forum... being objective or professional doesn't mean that you should ALWAYS point out the positive side and shun or be deaf on the negative.

There's also a 143hp version for low emission states.

Simple solution to your problems. Just respect the reviews of others. We all have the freedom to say our opinions. Kung gusto ninyo ang lancer, e di gusto ninyo? kung gusto ninyo civic, altis, mazda, focus..fine. Whats with all the fuss defending these cars?

We all have our own opinions, no need to waste your time on these. Hindi naman tayo kumikita sa pagbenta ng mga ito eh. And at the end of the day, these are all just cars.
