No rattles here, just a bit of wind noise at high speeds, I just turn the volume up on my 650W Fosy stereo

To Outlander fans and would-be owners, I suggest that you look into Consumer Reports web site regarding their evaluation. Please look at their car blog site:

    http://blogs.consumerreports.org/car...ishi_outl.html

Hope this would confirm/clear out details like tinny doors, handling, etc.

Stiff it is... Thats because it has sport suspension. You can adjust the PSI to make it comfortable.

Hehehe... I was shocked one owner said Rav4 and Cr-v are better... I wonder in what way is it better?

That's because consumer reports was comparing the outlander against the v6 us spec variants of the rav4 and sta. fe. I don't think we will get the same results if we compare the three using philippine spec units- just my two cents

I say it's just personal taste.

For others, this is only normal.

Sa US, they give you black interior (d2 naman sa Pinas it's beige). I say it's still based on different markets and specifications.

Very true! Don't just rely on reviews and reports, most of them are personal opinions. You have to see, feel, and experience it for yourself, and then decide. In other words, "Let your senses decide."

I did test drove the Outlander and comparing it with the 2001 Forester and 2004 RAV4 I must say the road noise, tire noise and engine noise enters the cabin more, the doors really sound tinny and require more effort to close, the ride is stiff and with humps and railroad tracks, there's more vibration to the steering wheel and the seats as well as vibratory buzz. The backrest transmits more vibrations of the road worse if humps and potholes. Moreover, by reading owner reviews lasting a few months to almost a year, the doors will vibrate more due to the plastics, on long drives your back will ache... (see Car and Driver, Edmunds, Epinions, Motortrend, etc). Need you wonder why its not selling like hotcakes just like in Japan where invecs 3 CVT is used not invecs 2 here. They use a more efficient 2.4 170 hp engine there, that's why.

Outlander has a stiffer ride compared to others coz it is sports tuned and is using new monotube shocks (same as in the EVO), but it compensates for better handling/cornering and less body roll compared to the others. Road noise is dependent on the tires used, I switched to 20's and changed to Hankook Sport k104 Ventus (245/40/R20) from Bridgestone Dueller HT 225/55/R18's and road noise disappeared Sometimes they don't check the tire pressures as well usually it's a lot more than the recommended pressures

It's still a matter of personal taste IMHO, some like it soft some like it stiff and I have the 2.4L MIVEC paired w/ 6 spd. INVECS III CVT, w/c I prefer over the V6 w/ 6 spd. INVECS II

Here's a UK review that describes how good the Outlander's handling and off-road performance compared to the Rav 4, X-trail and the CRV

The 2 upcoming Outlander clone models from Peugeot (4007) and Citroen (C-Crosser), they are both based on the Outlander GS platform and will be built in the same factory in Shiga, Japan.

i just dropped by mitsu dealer today to check out the outlander.

pogi talaga ang dating ng outlander, the unit was a black version.
based on what i saw sa showroom, the driver and front passenger seats where comfortable. am not too much into the trim and it was acceptable to me. the complaint i had with the outlander i checked out was that the back seats where a PAIN to sit in. matigas sobra parang nakasandal ka sa plywood. so it kinda turned me off. my passengers will complain to me pag sumakay kz we usually take long drives and seat comfort is number 1.

no chance to test drive but based on the comfort for the backseat passengers, i will have to pass on the outlander.
