The CR-V is more pedestrian than the Outlander. That should account for the price difference. The Outlander is not exactly designed to take Lola Puring and her amigas to Sunday mass the way the CR-V does.
The Outlander is a more focused product as opposed to the broader appeal of the CR-V. The Outlander has 18" tires, Rockford Fosgate sound system, power folding seats, lockable AWD system, etc. It also has spaceship styling which is also not for everyone (but then again, the CR-V's frumpy/feminine styling is not for me also).

April 4th, 2007 01:29 PM #4Just had the pleasure of driving the new outlander from gas station to the dealership nga lang and let me tell you guys - this compact suv is simply amaZING- with great emphasis on the zing. Power is nothing i have ever experienced in the suv market. In fact, i think this thing can outrun 90% of the vehicles currently being offered locally. I have not used paddle shifters before but operation is intuitive and shifting results in instant gear changes. Ride is a little more firm than the ride of our grandis but overall is comfortably firm even with the 18 in. wheels. Brakes are excellent also. Not much of an audiophile but i know bass when i hear - rather feel it.
If you guys are looking for something in this segment (cr-v,rav,xtrail,etc.) or maybe even the bigger boys (fort, sta. fe, alterra, etc.) seriously consider the outlander - better yet try to test drive this fun utility vehicle.

kun sana meron CRDI this will be the one I will get, pero wala e....
3.0 V6 masakit sakit yun sa fuel budget, pero if you have money to burn then Outlander din ako...
compare to 2007 CRV? hehehe I love Honda, Because I love my set up Civic 97, pero yung CRV07 no offense to the owner pero really dont like the exterior...yun interior yep nice pero not that nice.

Don't know about the 3.0V6 but according to Mitsu it's the most economical V6 engine in it's class. I have the 2.4 MIVEC w/ 6 spd CVT sportronic and the recorded consumption is 9.4 and 11.2 kms/L city/ hway. Basically it's consumption is just like a 2.0L engine but w/ alot more power IMHO

ang tipid niya as for a 2.0 more so for a 2.4 if it's able to muster some 9.2 on city driving, those figures are good for 1.6 engines usually...

Ganito lang yan...
Pag bumili ka ng CRV 07, pag nakakita ka ng Outlander 07... para kang manghihinayang at ipukpok ang ulo hindi pa Outlander ang binili mo...
Pag Outlander 07 ang binili mo at nakakita ka ng CRV 07 sa daan... you will definitely feel proud that you made the right choice...
Bakit ganun? You buy the CRV as dictated by your brain (practicality), you buy the Outlander as dictated by your heart (driving passion)...
That's how I feel about the 2 products but CRV marginally wins because of the spare tire location... other than that... Outlander talaga astig!
If purely for City driving then get the Emax7. since you already have other cars for longer drives....
