I'm from Isabela. I grew up in a family that spends not more than 10% of savings and cash in hand

Vacation once or twice a year or even none at all

But I guess there is some truth behind being the biggest spender while being the biggest saver

After one month, holy crap! What will I do with this money?!

Necessita laeng as lola would often say

Yung side na nagmigrate sa Mindanao (w/c is us) retained the core Ilocano values, while yung mga natira up north do heavily spend their money.

This is to true. One of my most well-off friends is Ilokano. Their house is HUGE! You can't even see it from the street! They do not have any luxury cars in fact my friend still drives his car in college! That's a late 90s model car. He is so humble and always downplays their status. Our kapampangan friend on the other hand... no comment

i think yung notion na yun is for old ilokano. kasi kung yung mga bata ngayon ang basehan naku e hindi po sila kuripot. hehehe.

marunong na rin gumastos mga ilokano. but i think most only spend what they earn. they dont over spend if not necessary.

May girl friend ako na Ilokano and she is really galante. She spoils me a lot and always buys me so much goodies from Baguio whenever she comes home. Never pa nagreklamo when it comes to money.

Are Ilocanos really 'kuripot'?
