November 28th, 2016 07:37 PM #1Need some suggestions...a few of my relatives will be visiting from the US, and all the gifts i can think about come from good ol' America.
Sadly they're not into art, so native handicrafts are not an option...preferrably not food din, because they are currently "training" for their food trip ^_^

November 28th, 2016 07:52 PM #2It depends on their age--
What I usually do-- I bring them to Kultura. If they spot something really nice and would love to buy, I insist to pay.

If I visit the PH, the last thing I want is material stuff. I want this.

Kahit ako gusto ko rin yan.
Aside from Collezione, maybe Muji or Uniqlo? Don't think they have those brands there.
Normally balikbayans do like to go to dampa style restaurants. Most of them just want to catch up with relatives

November 29th, 2016 10:31 AM #8when my teenage nieces came for a visit, pinagka-guluhan nila yung mga wooden carved bakyas.
yung mga matanda, they were just happy to see us. couldn't offer them much in food, as their tablets were more plentiful and more colorful than mine.
i have same the problem with visitors from the visayas and mindanao... mas masarap pagkain nila sa ibaba.
subukan nyo na lang siguro kung may programa sa CCP.

When our balikbayan relatives came here last Christmas, all they wanted to do was to travel like tourists... Vigan, Batanes, etc. and concluded their stay at a Palawan beach resort.

Give them the infamous barrell man of baguio. Tuwang tuwa mga dayuhan jan 😂
to be or not to be, that always confuses me!
Could also be due to the high demand that the manufacturer prioritized new car deliveries vs. spare...
