December 12th, 2007 08:36 PM #1Passengers hang as park ride stalls
Several passengers were left hanging mid-air after the "Space Shuttle" roller coaster ride stalled on its tracks at the Enchanted Kingdom theme park in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, ABS-CBN News reported.
The report said the ride stopped dead on its tracks shortly around 5:30 p.m. A number of high school students who were on a field trip were on the ride when it suddenly stopped on its tracks.
ABS-CBN News correspondent Ron Gagalac said that rescuers have plucked several passengers from the ride and have brought them down to the ground. At least eight passengers were being rescued as of posting time.
Officials clarified that the ride was not on an upside-down position when it stalled. They said that it was about to make a turn when it stalled.
Security officers have cordoned the area. A crane has arrived to bring down the passengers from the ride.
It was learned that the ride first stalled on its tracks on June 20, 2004 with 25 children onboard.
The Enchanted Kingdom website described the ride as "an 11-story high Space Shuttle, named after the first manned spacecraft designed for reuse. The country's first and only triple loop coaster turns riders upside down six times - 3 times forward and 3 times backwards."

I used to love these rides. One time though, after a double corkscrew, I felt that the world was turning the whole afternoon. After that, thanks, but no, thanks .....
Trouble was the kids were telling one another,- 'piece of cake'....

yan hirapo sa pinas di chk mabuti minsan, minsan pwedeng pwede na...
