Depende sa year and car condition's. Some are low as $500.00 and to high $10,000 but majority of 190 E are somewhere $1,200 to $3,500. The W201 on a Euro version (187 HP) that came to U.S in 1985 to 87 are very hard to find so I dont know what is the median price of that particular car.

If you're in the Philippines, 2.3-16v is rare. For a clean one it can still go for PHP500k or up, depende kung sino may-ari. Mostly, the 16-valvers in the Phils. are Mercedes enthusiasts and understands the true value of the car and highly unlikely to give it away just to anyone. But if you happen to stumble to someone who has under-appreciated its real worth (you know, the "euro-pormas" who knows nothing about it hehehe) then I think you can haggle down the resale value further and if I ever find a real bargain, I'm not gonna tell you

Rare pala yan, im looking to get my 1st benz and I like the look of the 190e 2.3-16v. How about the diesel models or the 2.6 I-6 models are they more available? tapos bodykit nalang ng 2.3-16v

Hi,

The Merc diesels are very robust, forgiving, and durable... choose your model.. from the "pedestrian" W123-200D..(I have one)... to the more affluent W126-300SD's/SDL's. But average prices for these are on the high-side nowadays since fuel prices are quite high.

The W124 models are quite larger with respect to body size as compared to the W201. So, your 190E aero-kit would not fit a 260E body. For the W124 series, there's a huge range of selections, from the 4 banger 200E to the 6 banger 300E... (I have one too..).. interior options are more present on the higher models..

the 190e 2.3-16v is indeed rare vehicle.

Two colors were only made the beige and the charcoal gray (almost black) so if you see one that has a different color that's probably a look a like.

The engine/suspension was made by the famous Cosworth of England. the 2.3 block was used but the DOHC head, air intake, headers, computer chip program are all Cosworth engineered. The suspension is lowered all around and a little bit stiff in my opinion

The transmission is by Getrag and it's in an unusual configuration "first down". Meaning, the first gear is where our usual 2nd gear is. It takes a little bit of practice because you always end up starting on second gear and this bogs down the engine specially if it is cold.

The interior is all leather with power seats. The seats are made by Recarro (if I'm right) and only seats four because of the high side and hip bolsters.

Second hand price? I doubt if it would be in the 500k range considering that it is a rare vehicle and the owner most likely is an auto enthusiast or a collector.

BTW I know all of this because my Ninong owned one of this fine Merc and he always asks me if I can park it at our home because he does not have any parking space left. I can also drive it as long as I have the gas money (back then gas was 8php/liter. Those were the days!!

Most of Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts in this forum knows the owner of this car (a member of MBCP). 490K is an ideal price, I guess it's the last price. But this car is well-kept and clean. I've seen this many times as well.

Unfortunately, this car is underrated that's why it's hard to sell in the right "sticker price". To an ordinary eye a 190E 2.3 and 190E 2.3-16 has no difference in resale value. BTW, how much is your budget? Perhaps you can negotiate...or wait

That is a very nice car indeed but its hard to justify spending that money on W201 when I can get a decent W202 for the same price or even less.

You forgot to consider that the MB 190e 2.3-16 is a rare breed
