I liked the part when Ted was looking for the "hair gel" which set up Mary for an even funnier sequence.

    RE: BOX OFFICE:

Batman v. Superman made a buttload of money at $873m, but this is considered a loss compared to Marvel's $1bn+++ Avengers draw. Especially considering the hype building up to the movie and the name recognition of the title characters.

Even worse when you consider the studio reportedly spent $400m on production, marketing and promotion... which means the break-even sales point is around $800m. (Studio denies this... of course... but won't say where their break-even point actually is.)

Thus, despite the huge box office... many analysts consider it a borderline failure. Guardians 2 is also levelling out at just over $800m, which could be considered a disappointment considering the first movie made $773m with just half the budget. (GOTG2 spent $200m in prod, and who knows what in marketing)

    -

Wonder Woman spent "only" $120m on production (supposedly) versus $250m for BvS... and approximately another $100m+ on marketing.

It has to make around $400m to break even.

It has already passed that, and it's not yet two weeks old.

This might... MIGHT be the first female superhero movie to break the $1b mark.

Studios have to start spending smart. People will only pay so much more money to watch that extra five minutes of CGI stuff blowing up. If you keep making bombastic blockbusters with no substance rather than good movies carefully sprinkled with effects, you're going to turn them off. (of course, this doesn't explain "Transformers...")

comic purists will notice the literary license this movie indulged in.
but it was a good movie.
now, i have to watch justice league and compare...
Wonder Woman is better. But if you're going to watch Dawn of Justice now, at least the Director's cut is watchable. Enjoyable for all the cookie crumbs from the comics (Flash, the coming of Darkseid, etcetera), but still a big, slow, overwrought mess.

But if you're talking the upcoming Justice League... yeah... there's a lot of hope it will be good.

    Gigantor, since the 60s.
