sa wakas narelease na rin ang plaka ng cx5 namin. . .
going back to the recommended fuel for the cx5, which is powered by skyactiv engine. . .
me nabasa ako somewhere here na pinagdudahan daw sya nung service adviser na gumamit ng fuel other than shell kaya nagkaproblema ang oto. . .pasensya na kung hindi eksaktong ganun, basta along that line of a discussion. . .
kaya lang, me nakita akong flyer or some document ng mazda na me nakatatak ng logo ng shell, which means a tie-up between the two companies
which led me to think,
1. the reason for recommending shell is because of their business ties with that company
or,
2. they tied up with shell because of a conclusion that it is the only one that sells 91-octane brand with actual 91 octane grade. . .
kailan ba nagsimula ang tie up ng mazda at shell?. . .if pre-skyactiv-engine days, then what they say is bs
your thoughts and knowledge on this matter, pleaseLast edited by vito corleone; April 29th, 2015 at 11:36 AM.

PH Skyactivs are tuned to run at 91 octane so anything above that is just a waste of money. Their tie-up with Shell sets the bias against other brands but you're free to fill up with whatever gas you like.
Our resident petroleum industry insider always asserts that all our fuels are similar. It's just a matter of additives and branding.
I fill up with Shell because they're on my route. I've tried Silver and it works just fine. The cleaner Euro IV gasoline should be better.Last edited by JohnM; April 29th, 2015 at 12:04 PM.

Not exactly true, for highway driving, using 95 octane fuel or higher can actually be more efficient. Plus 95 or higher octane fuel usually have better cleaning agent additives.
Working fine and working efficiently are entirely different.

It depends per car. I rack up 2,000 km of highway driving in a month and based on my fuel logs over several months, there's no FC difference between 91 and 95. I push my car really hard as well, and acceleration/top speed is the same regardless of octane.
I haven't subjected a SkyActiv-equipped car to the same testing, so I can't make definite conclusions about SkyActiv engines and our local fuel, but unless other people have done so, then they're just speculating as well.
Yes, 95 octane gasoline usually has better cleaning additives than their 91 counterparts, but the difference isn't night-and-day like what our marketing guys try to make you believe.
A lot of cars that are still running fine after 20 years have been fed almost exclusively with ordinary unleaded fuel with no bad effects.

If you drive mostly highways, you already have the best method of cleaning the engine. Italian tuning. Very good for you. No need for cleaning additives.
Yeah depends on the car, higher octane usually benefits high power engines. Engines designed for economy won't benefit much.

Kasya ba kung papalitan ng fullsize tire sa lagayan ng spare tire ng CX-5?

+1 on the Amaron. Yeah, just make sure it will fit and can be held in place securely due to...
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
