    Both has pros and cons.

At the end of the day...depende sa taste mo

    My opinion

    CX5 2.0 pro and 2.5awd
    Pros
    1) pogi
    2) front seats have good form and support
    3) plenty of toys afs/lane change alert/sensors/etc
    4) Yojin3 warranty + 100,000kms covered
    5) front visibility is good.

    Cons
    1) stiff ride
    2) cabin space is tight
    3) parts seem pricey esp the battery
    4) blind spots sa likod
    5) hirap to find accessories and upgrade electronics coz of too sensitive Cpu system.

    forester 2.0 and 2.0premium

    1) cabin space is big
    2) road handling and braking is great esp steering wheel response
    3) new toy included in the 2.0premium (sunroof/power seats/etc)
    4) all wheel drive/traction control/hill assist/xdrive/etc

    Cons
    1) warranty is only 60,000kms
    2) pricey din parts esp body and engine parts
    3) fuel consumption
    4) not so good looking fascia

Ang challenge is that for the price of a forester 2.0premium P1.6M ...you already have a 2.5awd CX5 P1.685

Pag base vs base model...P1.3M awd forester vs 1.4M fwd Cx5....

    Hay..hirap decide
Let this do the convincing for you.

About the ownership cost and bulletproof reliability read this:
2013 Mazda CX-5 Touring AWD Long-Term Test ? Review ? Car and Driver

Being compared with the newest competitors: all new RAV4 and Forester
2013 Toyota RAV4 XLE AWD vs. 2014 Subaru Forester 2.5i Touring, 2014 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring AWD ? Comparison Test ?*Car and Driver

Being compared with the newest CRV and Ford Escape/Kuga (all new model, including the Tucson/Spotage twins and older RAV4) read this:
    2013 Ford Escape vs., 2012 Honda CR-V, 2012 Hyundai Tucson, 2012 Kia Sportage, 2013 Mazda CX-5, 2012 Toyota RAV4 - Comparison Test - Car and Driver

Instrumented test of the 2.5L AWD model :2014 Mazda CX-5 2.5 AWD Test ? Review ? Car and Driver

(Spoiler alert!) Casting a win over newest RAV4, Escape/Kuga, Forester and CRV tells a lot about the credentials of the CX5.
I was happy to have read that over the 40,000 miles (64,373.76kms) it ran course through the hands of C/D mag staffs, it was tagged as "mechanically flawless" despite packing a lot of tech stuffs in it. 21mpg average FC of hard driving is still 8.9km/l. Not bad, considering it is 2.5L 6AT and has AWD. C/D claims that average individual who has much better control of the accelerator may really reach 26mpg which is 11km/l. I can't remember a small SUV this as efficient before. Kudos Mazda!

    good evening everyone,

ask ko lang pwede po ba i-off yung i-stop? or hindi gamitin lets say wag mag seatbelt para hindi sya gumana?

pag ganun po ba ginawa hindi na mabilis masisira yun Special Battery ng i-stop?

    Don't drive without a belt.

And yes, you can turn it off. There's a button to toggle it on or off.

No need to turn it off. If your AC is set cold enough, it won't turn on. If you don't press down completely on the brakes at a stop (press just hard enough to stop the car, but don't push the pedal all the way down), it won't turn on.

And no, the batteries should not be destroyed. Capacitors are not damaged by depletion, like lithium ion batteries are.

When I was buying CX-5, i had an option to either buy a unit without i-stop and with i-stop. The 2.0 version and the 2.0 Pro version differ by around 100k after discounts back then. Which made me go for the non-pro version. Now, with the price of battery, I do not think the savings you get from I-stop can justify the cost.

Granting both units cost the same, do you think the cost of gas consumed by idle would be equal that of the battery of istop?

My Cx-5 non-pro averages around 9.5 to 10km/l with heavy edsa and makati traffic during weekdays.

My dealer told me to use shell fuel save unleaded or caltex silver and do not use petron even if the octane is 91-93. Apparently it contains additives that is bad for your engine.

For those still thinking if they should buy one, apart from skyactive and other tech stuff, yojin 3 and 100,000km warranty and the very good looks, consider as well that the unit is Japan CBU. Japanese are very meticulous with quality and if you get to work with Japanese, you would really know how much it means to them to the point that you would go crazy with the level of precision they require.

Which is why over the course of a 70 pages here, i think I haven't read any question about a mechanical problem due to improper QA compared to other cars in this forum. I might be wrong and missed a couple but generally, there are no complaints.

That is, for me, a big consideration why you should buy this car.

I computed this before and as long as the CX-5 Pro is 6% more efficient than the non-Pro, it should breakeven.
