When was Cylinder Deactivation (CD) introduced in the Philippines' CX-5 (from Malaysia, I believe)? Looking at a 2.5AWD Gas purchased Nov 2019, and not sure if it has CD. In the US, I understand it started 2018.

Cylinder Deactivation was introduced around 2019 here on the 6. None of the Ph CX5 KFs have it.

Really, sure? I ask because an agent of Pampanga told me the CX5 2.5AWD Gas had it, though no mention of which year it started. Unless he was referring to the 2020, which PH sites say started to have CD. I'm just hoping the pre-2020 models don't. Would there be an easy way to find out, aside from trying to decipher it 'deactivating' on a test drive?

Only the 2019+ Nippon-built CD-equipped 6s were able to sneak in. Test the 6 & AWD KF to see.[emoji4]
