Just going over the previous posts...Pigface is asking where to get or where it is nice to have his truck tinted...just wait at the EB if there is any news on
the Vkool tint. Don't worry I'm excited also...like what Boss Ron said maski yun harapan lang ng truck. Pardon me but still getting used to this type of set up in communicating through Tsikot.com had problems in connecting to this page before...not so sure why anyway just keep me posted Boss Ron on the next EB...so i can bring my truck and not only that hopefully i can tag along my other friend. See you guys by then! Got to get some sleep for now...
got work later!
To Sir Gervic: Thanks for sharing the photo's
By for now

Ronn:
Dito sa Q.C. malabo ata ang EB sa end of June - which is June 30.
Una, there's a street party sa Quezon Memorial Circle - super dami ang security and inauguration thing pa at the Quirino Grandstand.
That would cut off access to half of Manila and Q.C. depending of course where you are coming from.
Another thing is that its on a Wednesday - in the middle of the week, next day may pasok na naman - bitin di ba?
I suggest we try for 1st week of July - what do you suggest?
Best Regards,
Dusky Lim

June 27th, 2010 04:41 PM #928Hello Mazda lovers. Here is my daily driven Mazda B2200.
A little history first:
She was brought Bnew from one of the FMC dealerships in Quiapo way back in 1990. I forgot which one as I was still in college at that time and it was my dad who went to pick her up.
The very next day, we had the aircon installed(at that time, the factory air was done by a factory assigned third-party installer) and then took her to Banawe for "spiffing up". She got a modest 2" lift via leaf spring hangers and a torsion bar adjustment allowing her to sport 215R15 Pirelly P7 white side wall tires(I know!) on Rallye 15x7" rims. We also got a Pioneer cassette deck and a pioneer "equalizer booster" to power the front 4" speakers and rear pioneer speakers in a plastic "truck enclosure".
I remember na new technology pa yung "Magic Tint" at that time so we had those put on as well. :P
Syempre, power locks and a remote alarm(silicon brand iirc) are a Banawe staple so we got them as well.
After a week of Manila driving for the 1000km break in period, we checked her in for her first servicing then took her home to Davao via the land route. It was my dad, myself and three other college friends that took the trip and it was one of the most memorable trips I've had in my life.
It served as the family's primary vehicle for 6 years until we acquired newer vehicles to take front-line service. It was then relegated to the unflattering role of utility-vehicle for our family business. Later, when I started traveling all over Mindanao on business(and pleasure), she was my faithful steed and would regularly cruise at 120kmh without any drama.
Fast forward 20 years and here she is now. Still faithfully serving the second generation of the family that bought her when she was new. I've had to do a complete overhaul on the engine at 140k KM but it was a terrible job that gave up after about 80k KM.
I decided to do an engine-swap instead of another overhaul and since Mazda R2 engines weren't available in Davao at the time, I had to shoehorn a Hyundai 2.5L engine and tranny instead. She had more torque than my 2.2L but the final-drive ratio seems lower.
Also, due to the sloppy conversion, I'm suffering from vibration during high RPM/Speed runs. My mechanic said the problem could be cured with a new balanced drive-shaft but I decided to live with it since my truck is now just a daily commuter and rarely exceeds 80kmh with city traffic.
I've no plans of selling this baby since this was the car I was driving when I first met and dated my wife. My kids love it as well and they're looking forward to driving it when they get older. I'll probably do a proper engine conversion in the near future with a Ford Ranger Turbo inter-cooled 2.5L but that's another story.
A few more pics:
I'll soon move those Hella 550s to the rear as bed-lamps/back-up lamps when i can find a set of larger Hellas to replace them. Preferably with HID bulbs.
She's now sporting a 4" body-lift to allow clearance for the 235R15 Pirelli Scorpion AT/R tires. I used to run the AT tires and I hated it when they went out of stock. I might get M/T tires next time- as you can see. I need them- even on my driveway.
I've since ditched the originaly installed Pioneer speakers for these DLS separates. I put one tweeter high up near the dashboard to bring the soundstage up. Subwoofer is a Kicker 8" Comp VR in a ported box.
Separates are powered by a V12 NV805 amp and second NV805 powers the Sub. Head unit is a Pioneer 4250SD which I chose for the SD Card feature.
