I never found CVTs to be noisy either, unless of course you start looking for the noise. For the Altis CVT, the car's NVH is good enough not to have any disturbing humming noises in the cabin.

Nissan has one of the best CVT trannies in the market right now, offering very smooth operation and good fuel economy. I've only tried it on the new X-Trail but the Sylphy should have a similar transmission.

Oh, and about the Altis price increase, I heard they're offering it with roughly a 35k discount so the 949k is effectively just 914k, not much more expensive than the Maxx but already comes with alloy rims, fog lamps, and auto climate control. Of course, the Sylphy 1.6 at 850k is still a better bargain.
Unless they reinvented that rubber band to last forever, I'm steering clear of those, jut sir. No amount of maintenance can help prevent its inevitable expiry.
That's not a hobo-friendly tranny, not for me. Thank you.

you don't get the MZD Link and the large LCD screen on the dash.

Reluctant magbigay ng discount dahil may Yojin3 naman. Any discounts you get from other manufacturers will go back to them during the PMS.

may nag post dati sa mz3 thread that an SA offered him 45k cash discount on Maxx, bringing its price down to 854k
add mo pa yung savings sa Yojin3 and it will be like getting the car for ~ 825k. not bad in my opinion, undercuts the price of some mid trim subcompacts from other makers

of course, different story if you have more money to shell out. get the 1.5 sky if you have the budget

Not true. Got a 100k discount on cx-5 with yojin 3 and cx-5 was sold out back then and the next iteration came more than six months later. Depende na lang yan diskarte pero i remember the discount discussion started out small lang until it became 100k.

The keyword is "reluctant", I didn't say they won't. If you got discounts then kudos to your ninja bargaining skills. Maybe they are pushing for slow moving and unpopular stocks. But not for popular models like the SkyActiv Mz3 where demand is outstripping supply.

Hello! First-time car buyer on a budget, and I'm really considering this car. SA is giving me real huge discount that makes its price comparable to a mid-tier sub compact. Should I get this one over say, an entry level MT Altis?

Guys ok po ba ang Mazda 3 V 1.5L AT? like how is the handling and fuel consumption? can you give me an estimate on it's fuel consumption when driving it here in the city and sa open road? comfortable ba sa loob? ok lang ba yung "road noise"?

Same as most other compacts, 8-9 km/L city driving, around 15 km/L highway (higher if you're a slow driver).

Some people will claim 10 km/L city driving but these are also the people who experience lighter traffic and not exclusively rush hour crawling.

Power is adequate for city driving. Ride isn't the most comfortable in its class, but its handling is the best. Cabin quietness is inferior to other compacts.
