Based on the Takeri Concept
Which is an evolution of the Mazda Shinari concept.
which means that the Takeri is already a toned down model. Expect Takeri to evolve with very minimal changes as it becomes the 2014 Mazda 6.
The Mazda TAKERI concept—inspired by Mazda's Shinari concept before it—made its official North American debut at the 2012 New York International Auto Show today, accompanied by a spec sheet of SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGIES meant to increase overall vehicle performance and hint toward the future of Mazda:
twin-turbo SKYACTIV®-D Diesel engine
SKYACTIV® Body
SKYACTIV®-DRIVE transmission
i-STOP stop/start system
i-ELOOP capacitor-based regenerative braking system
KODO design theme
Also announced is the fully SKYACTIV® 2014 Mazda6, which will feature design elements strongly influenced by the TAKERI concept, and make its global debut later this year.

It actually departs quite heavily from the previous Mazda 6, but still looks distinctively Mazda.
What I love most is that it still manages to look svelte despite having bigger dimensions.
Interior pics don't tell much, except that the 6 is coming with a diesel. The design is still bound to change drastically.

The stance is long, low and wide. Very much like a sports car. It seems to have that cab rearward cabin design having a very long hood. Mazdaspeed/MPS versions should also appear too. What's more exciting is this is a hybrid diesel with i-STOP system and engine/tranny and chassis are designed following the SKY-ACTIV technology. That should make it very fuel efficient.

Actually, it looks even more coherent than the Mazda 3 brother.
I think the artist rendition is quite precise. The only change being the Takeri to 6 is the proper head/foglights and a new and more conventional side mirrors. Of course, the interior will look more 'normal' on production cars.
