July 25th, 2012 04:55 PM #31Mazda's getting a little late with the Specs/Quality + Pricing > Brand wars.
Honda has been feeling this pinch recently with the underwhelming CRV and Civic but Mazda PH doesn't seem like it's learning.
Hyundai (and, as of late, Kia) has been on the (positive) receiving end of this, where it used to be the laughingstock among car importers but have gone on a tear since then.
Toyota seems to be semi immune to this since since their products, while not cutting edge, aren't the worst in terms of specs and don't carry the usual premium other greedier manufacturers feel obliged to tack on. (They have the specs/quality/pricing AND brand, though not exactly perfect)Last edited by mda; July 25th, 2012 at 04:58 PM.

July 25th, 2012 04:57 PM #32in case MPH will retain the current engine and tranny for the new Kodo body, would sales of Mazda 6 suffer?

July 25th, 2012 05:05 PM #34With a good price, good specs, and better FE from improvements elsewhere (body weight, aerodynamics, more efficient transmission), people will gloss over an older engine.
With a significantly higher price but inferior specs especially compared to the competition, good luck.
The ACV40 Camry (07-12) carried over it's engine from the previous body, but it sold really well. It's because the overall package was received well by the people buying them.

July 25th, 2012 05:31 PM #37just by observing the Japanese trends lately -- Toyota (Altis, Camry ...), Honda (Civic), Mazda (3) -- most likely Mazda 6 will follow the same trend. sana MPH will realize the comment of basti above and for what the Koreans have done

Thing of beauty but something is lost in the transistion from Takeri.
The sharper head and tail lights for one...
the production car has softer contours. Soft around the edges. I prefer the sharper Takeri. Less striking imo
I dont think So
Need help choosing a bigger ride for my growing...
