November 23rd, 2016 09:44 PM #9171^actually sa labas naman daw talaga ipapagawa ng casa. Talked with the owners of the CXs. The casa suggested they take them out dahil i-outsource din naman nila, and they found the shops not to their liking.
Insurance claim? Unless the claim is into the 10s of thousands, talo ka sa participation fee. And ang alam ko lang na in-house ang body repair ay Toyota, and possibly Honda. All the rest out-source yang "gawang-casa". Tsaka bihira na yung eyeball technique sa pag-mix ng paint. lahat yan computer ang naghahalo. you just tell the paintshop the color code and thats it.
Maganda yung gawa ng sa akin, even better than when I drove it out of Mazda N. Edsa if I may say so myself. The bumper paint job now looks and feels the same as the the metal painted panels. Tsaka may experience na rin kasi ako sa shop na yun having had my Lancer repainted at their shop 5 years ago.

The shops dealerships opt to do bodywork & painting undergo Berjaya accreditation & training. The paints Mazda formulated aren't simply about coded mixes but also specific preppin', layering & curing techniques. These same paints when applied to plastics, which use different base coats, will normally have slight differences on hue & shade in comparison to metal applications. Look closely the stock paint & note the difference between bumpers/mirrors/handles & metal panels.
Outsourcing these jobs won't necessarily mean the said dealerships are cutting anyone short. Most of them do topnotch work. I've seen how the shop our dealership uses here match Soul Red & Snowflake up close....2 tough paints to do... & they do it very well.

Actually, napag-usapan namin to nung makulit na sales agent nun nung nag ccanvas pa kami ng sasakyan. The topic was Soul Red. Akala ko kasi na pag sinabing gawa sa casa, eh casa mismo ang ggawa. Kung Mazda/Berjaya accredited or trained naman pala, okay na yun I guess? Anyway, thanks for shedding light on my unproven theories. Medyo baguhan lang talaga when it comes sa usapang kotse, hence the name. I'm trying to read up on this thread whenever I can. Sobrang haba lang.

It can be called whatever, sir.
Those dealerships that don't have their own paint divisions contract shops outside. Mazda Ph/Berjaya extends training to ensure quality & consistency.
We're fortunate the dealership local to me contracts their painting needs to a good friend whose shop only does premiums. We had good discussions on the methods Mazda has taught em.
