    2. Genuine rims are made from high-quality light weight materials. These genuine rims are always lighter than copies. What made them more expensive is the use of higher quality materials and the process of making them (forged, 3-piece, etc) plus the design RND that is part of the manufactuing process. Rota only copies whatever the design is, using cheaper materials.

    3. Stock alloy wheels are usually heavier than Rotas. You will feel a slight gain in performance(handling, stability, acceleration, etc) of your car if you UPGRADE to even ROTAs because they are lighter and wider(usually). Lighter set of wheels are good because it decreases unsprung weight. Lightest Rota is ROKU then TITAN.

    4. Last but not the least is aesthetics. Your car will be prettier and more unique with aftermarket wheels.

A couple of friends who used to race advised me against buying China copies, saying these are not strong enough, even for daily use. Some shatter on impact when it hits potholes. They advised me to get either 2nd hand originals or Rotas instead. For 15" wheels, copies cost around 15k up.Original racing wheels, like Volks Ray, Watanabe etc.... cost 50k to 100k. Rotas cost 15k up too, depending on the model, are tough enough for daily use & even for racing, & are proudly Philippine made. They are popular worldwide already, popular enough to be counterfeited by the Chinese. Here is a picture of one being abused on a racetrack.
