February 19th, 2013 02:54 PM #655hi guys/gals...just share some pix on last weekends roadtrip to Banaue.
total distance travelled around 715km++...
on the way up with very little bed rest, i was almost lulled into sleep till
a corner carver by the name of Toyota '86 (the Subaru BRZ twin) get my
blood pumping and woke me up.....
i tried to give him a good chase and over-took him on some occassions
only on the straights.... but unfortunately he's car is just too good around
the bends. plus (whoever he is) thumbs up to his driving ballz....
there was one incident though that i was chasing him and was too hot for one
RIGHT hander immediately followed by a LEFT Hander turn....was doing almost
120kph in Caringgal Maharlika hiway (close to Nueva Ecija/Vizcaya?) and with
the well paved asphalted section i lost grip momentarily and already heard the tires
fighting for traction.....it was kind of a close call (shouldn't do that again, haha).
anyway since there's alot of pictures, i just selected a few in thumbnail sizes for
viewing below....

February 19th, 2013 05:18 PM #656I had a similar experience too, and also on that exact same stretch of highway (eerie), I was coming down from Sta Fe (Dalton Pass) and already on that part of the highway in Caranglan (I think this is the correct name of the place) Nueva Ecija, just before San Jose, and I felt that I was losing traction on my wheels as I was speeding up at around 80kph on the zig-zag. It was on this experience that I was missing the 4wd ability of an SUV (that I had on my Kia Sportage that had 4wd). This Sorento is powerful that we need to be careful in driving it, else risk losing control.

February 19th, 2013 06:44 PM #657Guy i'm really new when it comes to SUVs.
With both experiences, would it be an advantage if you had the AWD model? Does it really have more traction on street road or is it just good for off roads?

Not just the engine. It's literally a D-Max with Mazda styling, but everything mechanical is Isuzu....
