December 12th, 2012 06:42 PM #21i don't think a 1.2 HB would be a good idea since it would probably underpowered. i own a 1.2 picanto and i sometimes feel that it's underpowered when loaded with people at the back and when going uphill.
as for changing mags, i have to agree hehe. this is my unit, sorry for jacking the thread. just wanted to put in my 2 cents regarding a 1.2 HB being compared to a 1.2 picanto

I took the 1.2 Rio out on the Skyway with three people, a full trunk and an extra suitcase in the middle of the back seat, and while it was noticeably slower, still had no trouble getting up to and cruising at 120.
BTW. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiice rims.Been trying to get a 1.2 Picanto tester... was wondering how the 1.2 compared to the 10 in terms of power in the smaller car. The 1.0 is a bit... bitin.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

December 14th, 2012 01:00 AM #23Niky, thanks! can't wait for your to review the 1.2 Picanto as well. i post my thoughts and observations in the official Picanto thread and it seems that i'm the only one posting anything about the 1.2 variant. i'll be really interested in hearing your thoughts
the rims are copies haha. can't be bothered to get originals coz of the price :P i got them because i knew that they'd look great on a dropped car. thanks for the compliment!
to OP, sorry for jacking the thread

i understand your point, but the thing is, meron na sa market dito na 1.2 rio sedan, so it makes sense to bring a stripped hatch variant (preferably in MT). Ive read Niky's review about it and seems like it gets the job done.
sa grabe ng traffic, better be in style nalang hehe.
nice pica btw! iba nagagawa ng mags.
Off topic, hope Kia could also bring here the 3door picanto :D

January 9th, 2013 11:10 AM #25i got 1.4 ex AT last dec, i've tried using different fuel from shell, caltex, petron, & stepping lightly on the gas pedal same result, i average 4.6km - 5.6km/L my current odo is 744, even if it's moderate to light traffic, very disappointed lang with my cars fc, but even though the car's high fuel consumption, i still love my car, still hoping in the near future CAC can come up with the remedy for it's rio's A/T high FC's, so if your really concern with FC, don't get a KIA RIO 1.4 AT, get another brand honda/toyota/chevy/mitsubishi,

December 11th, 2014 09:21 AM #27Average consumption ko sa Rio EX 1.4L M/T ay 8-10km/L tapos average driving speed 15km/h. Salot ang speed limit sa Davao City.
On light traffic doable talaga 11-12km/L. Yung tipong 25-30km/h average speed. Takes a bit of getting used to a 6-speed manual. I posted the gear ratios on the other tread for guidance.
Tipid technique na gawa ko, accelerate to 10km/h sa 1st, then to 30km/h on second, then shift to 5th and maintain speed for as long as possible.
Kung sa 40km/h speed limit areas, accelerate to about 15km/h sa 1st, then upto 30km/h sa 2nd, shift to 3rd up to 40km/h then to 6th gear.
ano gawa ng 4th gear in my case? moving along slowly at 20-25km. :D
Will wonders never cease with Motolite? Ha ha.
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
