February 13th, 2007 01:09 AM #41The JK Rubicon only needs a 3" lift to run 35s". A 6" lift will require driveline mods and I'm not sure what exactly yet since 6" lifts aren't that popular on the JK yet. On the 03-06 TJ Rubicon, such would require a 1" body-lift, 1" motor-mount lift and CV-shaft.
Yeah... I drive a Patrol but I'm hoping to get a Defender (or a Rubicon) someday. Currently, my Patrol has served me well but I find its 4.2 NA diesel too slow-- even with propane injection. I run 4.11 gears and 34" Swamper TSLs.
My cousin owned a 97 Defender 90 with the ZF 4-sp auto but she eventually sold it to pay for graduate school. Her fiance' still has his 95 D90 though.

Wow they blew a Dana 44 that's pretty bad. I guess I didn't buy that issue and they didn't show it on their TV show. Well the Xterra and Frontier can only max the tires at 33" since the front diff is the weak part along with a bad transfer case design using cast aluminium covers. We actually had someone at the Xterra Club decide to just do a solid axle swap and use a modified Jeep Wagoneer axles up front and a Ford 9" in the rear. Keep in mind this was on a brand new Xterra less than a year old. I'm not quite that hard core into wheeling to rip my truck apart, hence the reason I want a Jeep. BTW what does the Patrol use on it's axles?

Ooops sorry typo I meant 3" lift. Where do you wheel the Patrol?
Unfortunately I have only seen one D90 for sale around here and it was too expensive.
Do you know if they have the Dodge Power Wagon there? Those are very nice rigs also, my nephew has one of those with a Hemi V8 and uses it to off road in Vegas on the desert. It's too bad that Dodge didn't put a Cummins diesel option for the engine.

February 13th, 2007 04:50 PM #45There are so many places to wheel in the Philippines. I frequent Rizal and Aurora Province.
Defenders are great but if you can't get them new, just get a Rubicon.
I like the Power Wagon but it's just too expensive and a bit big. However, you can't go wrong with factory lockers and 12,000 winch. It's also easy to fit 37s on it with just a 5" lift.

Yup the H233B are pretty strong too bad Nissan opted to put a C200 on the newer Frontier/Xterra if it wasn't the Off Road model or manual trans with the D44. For the front we have R180A that has been grenading on people off road, the ring and pinion breaks and takes the cast aluminium case with it.

Blue-labeled Motolite Gold are factory-supplied OEM batteries with only 1 year warranty.
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
