November 4th, 2015 10:01 PM #2281All the new engines are becoming smaller and more powerful than ever. Like the All new ford focus from 2.0 to 1.5 engine. Turbocharging will be the key to having more power and economy.

November 5th, 2015 08:09 AM #2282This trend is slowly becoming the way of the future for most carmakers. I mean, who would not want both better performance and fuel economy? It is still considered to be in the early stages however, so expect a lot of issues to arise.

I appreciate Ford's efforts for being one of the pioneers to bring such engine technology to the mass market. But with all the issues they are experiencing, I would stay away from them until they have developed a good reputation in terms of reliability. Think about it: What is the point of all the benefits if the engine cannot stay problem-free for long? Nonetheless, I am sure they will eventually fix up these issues in the future.
For those who want to play it safe and avoid potential issues, they would stick to the 4JJ1 and 4JK1. Although I really hope that this new 1.9 Ddi will end up being successful as well. We will surely keep track of it as we wait for its arrival on Philippine shores.

November 5th, 2015 11:10 PM #2283Sabi nga yung 4JJ1 engine ay gamit sa fastest pickup of its class (D-Max) when tuned for drag racing. Not sure bakit napaka conservative ang tuning..
Also note yung ito rin ang gamit sa ELF Dump Trucks.. imagine gaano ka stress free yung 4JJ1 pag nilagay sa lighter D-Max.
Siraulo na lang ang magsabi ng underpowered pa yun.. hahaha.

November 6th, 2015 05:53 PM #2289Cummins diesel engine of foton pickup is china made. There is a foton Cummins joint venture factory in china. The engines are designed in the united States but manufactured in china. Read and research before you use bad words in this forum. Nakakahiya...

November 6th, 2015 06:20 PM #2290B10 rating of 500,000kms is a very good selling point. I wonder if there would be 4JJ1s that can do so here without the injectors or turbo going kaput or SCV replacements.
I still don't understand the 163ps rating though. Did they deliberately use an inferior engine for the Philippine market? Or is it merely a blunder by the marketing department?
