July 15th, 2012 03:46 PM #1093Hi Guys! New owner of a 2012 Limited Edition LS Dmax here.
I need advice on how to further protect the spare time for my DMAX?
Where can I buy a spare tire lock specifically for the Dmax?
Hope you guys would reply to this query.
Thanks!

July 20th, 2012 12:42 PM #1096Oo nasa ilalim. Exactly why Im asking what kind of lock/security the others have adopted for it.
Mas madali kasi nakawin yung spare tire pag nasa ilalim. Our Innova's spare tire was stolen before and I bought a specific lock for it.
Unfortunately, there is no specific lock of the same design for the Dmax (or at least wala akong mahanap).
A regular Chain and padlock will not work coz the thieves will just simply cut the chain with a bolt cutter.
So help please? How do you guys secure your spare tires?

The one used on your Innova looks like this right ?
If you can't find or source a Dmax specific spare tire lock similar to your Innova's, then you can take the old lock from your Innova and fabricate a bracket (similar to the image shown above) to fit the Dmax chassis. You can reuse the rest of the components (lock mechanism, nuts and bolts, shafting, etc..).Last edited by number001; July 20th, 2012 at 02:33 PM.

Unless your D-max is not fixed as mine. I do have a 2004 LS and I can't figure out how can they cut the chain. The chain is rolled against the flooring.

July 25th, 2012 10:27 PM #1099Hello!
Sold the old pajero i got from my father. And i just checked the isuzu dmax lx out. I forgot to ask if it is CRDi already. Is it?
I think i'm sold on the isuzu dmax compared to the hilux, navarra, and ranger (out of budget) and strada (i heard about a choking problem, and i think the dmax's design will stand the test of time compared to the slopes of the strada) I tend to keep cars for a very long time. This will be my first new car. Any advice on breaking-in. Ive read that you just dont hard accel and brake. And that you play throught the range of each gear. This means mixing shifting up early and shifting up late right? or wrong hehe.
Anything i should prepare for regarding usual problems for this truck?

July 29th, 2012 10:57 PM #1100Hello again. Seems no one is here haha.
I'm really sold already to the dmax after reading about hilux high chances of getting a lemon, and the navara's flywheel scare. But i've also read great things about the previous DMAX engine. Now im torn between the new 3.0L in the 4x2 LX or the old engine in the 2.5L 4x2 LT.
I know the LX looks sharper and newer and the LT has that black bumper and only comes in silver and white but I think the outside looks will be easier to "***IFY" with after market parts and accesories and big wheels. But the engine is my concern.
Am i right to assume the engine of the LT is tougher (regarding dirty dielsel in the country) and easier to maintain?
As far as fuel consumption im matipid with my driving style. As long as I get 10 to 11 km city driving im happy. I shift up before 2000rpm.
Hope some owners and experts still visit this forum.
Thanks.
Need to buy a pick up. gulpi na interior of my sta fe. smells like cement and plywood already.
