May 13th, 2013 11:47 PM #1Hello mga sir,
i had my 20k pms las week sa hyundai biñan. advice saken ng SA kelangan daw ipagawa yung aircon pag dating ng 20k if we want to avail the warranty of our A/C incase masira. according to him, karamihan sa atin akala covered pa din ng warranty yung A/C kahit hindi natin nai pa service sa kanila, e hindi daw ganun.
so i ask for a quote and to my surprise aabot ng less than 19k yung gagastusin for A/C service which include a lot of things like. cleaning, valve replacement(ewan kung anu to), freon, fragrance etc. sorry hindi ko dala yung papel na binigay nya pero madami sya sinulat dun.
ganito ba talaga price? kelangan ba talaga palitan lahat ng pyesa ng aircon agad? anu alternative ko pra mka mura?
pls advice
thanks

May 21st, 2013 12:13 AM #2I suggest you check the details of your car warranty to see what it says about coverage of your car air condition system. For sure, if they require the PMS as a "condition" for the warranty to remain effective then you need to choose if you want to save the Php 19k now, and take a chance pray it does not later on conk out with major problem costing more than Php 19k. I have been in the car business for many years and I don't think its necessary to do major maintainance work on the car aircon at 19 Tkms. At best, maybe the cabin air filter needs replacement. I have now seen some Hyundai Starex owners decide to give up the 5 year warranty because dealers apparently "recommend" so much work that cost much that might not be necessary.
The soonest I have heard of about car brands suggesting an air con PMS involving general cleaning is 30 Tkms, Toyota suggests it at 40 Tkms. My old European car, Opel indeed had an air compressor fail at 33Tkms, and black oil was evidence of premature wear an tear tsk tsk. But on Japanese cars, I rarely hear of premature compressor breakdown, I have not heard much either about Hyundais with premature failure. If an air con breaks down at anything above 50 Tkms, thats normal though a good no of cars run up to nearly 100 Tkms with no problems either. YMMV, it depends on driving conditions that determine how long parts last.

May 21st, 2013 10:25 AM #5Yun sakin I was able to warranty the aircon compressor at 30tkms without aircon maintenance. Dpende yan sa casa. If you have to spend 19k then kahit wag ka na magavail ng warranty sa aircon. Brandnew orig compressor sa goodgear is 15k only an yun na yun pinakamahal na parts na pwede masira. For me mas ok pa rin factory seal ng aircon system and ipapagawa ko lng if may problem.
The 12-month warranty on the factory battery ended a few days ago. SOH is still good at over 90%,...
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
