"Cleaning" them won't help. The squeal problem will come back after a week or so.

If you have the squeal problem on your brakes, have it fixed at Hyundai Pasig. They will send the brake assembly to their machine shop. It will fix the problem permanently. You have to leave your car for a day or so though.

    Sir Savan,

Sa drum brakes lang ba ang squeal problem or pati disc brakes din? Thanks!

When i had the problem, the squeal sound is coming from the rear drum brakes only. Wala naman squeal sa disc brakes.

I think this problem is already corrected by Hyundai on newer batches since i don't read many complaints on this forum. FYI, i bought my Tucson 2 years ago.

If you plan to buy the Tucson, i recommend asking the dealer about it first.

Thanks Sir Savan. My Tucson is model 2008 which has disc brakes on the four wheels. I am just curious if I will be expecting squeal from it. Regards....

I don't think so, been using a similar model for more that a year now and i haven't experienced any squealing.

what are the variants that came out back in 2006? same as the current lineup ba?
    2.0L CRDi 4WD AT
    2.0L CRDi 2WD AT
    2.0L CVVT AT
    2.0L CVVT MT

im considering getting a 2nd hand tucson, what quirks do i need to look out for sa 06 model aside from the brakes?
and never owned a diesel before, ano advantages of going CRDi sa CVVT gasoline variant aside from the more torque and diesel is ofcourse cheaper.

Advantage of diesel will not be much if mostly city short distance travel, for long distance province travel, my choice will be diesel, and CRDi engine produce more power and torque compare to the old diesel engine with the same displacement therefore, lesser diesel consume. On the physical, the dual exhaust pipes of the CRDi looks much better than the single one on the CVVT version.
