Haha! Kung eto ang tama, KM/L, matipid na yan sir. Pero yung nasa trip computer, L/100km yun, masyado naman mataas.

5.5-6.5 km/L is normal for city driving of a gas-fed Tucson. Regardless of your fuel brand, your FC will stay in that range. If you want to improve your fuel consumption:

    1. Drive in lighter traffic - leave earlier/later, avoid going out during rush hours, etc. This is the biggest factor affecting your fuel consumption. Some people will claim good FC figures but it's not an apples-to-apples comparison if you drive in bumper to bumper traffic while he drives in light, free-flowing traffic.

    2. Adjust your driving habits - a light foot can help improve your FC by about 0.5-1 km/L. Of course, if you're stuck in bumper to bumper traffic, your FC will drop no matter how gently you drive.

    3. Keep your car well maintained - sounds like common sense, but make sure to have your oil and filters changed at proper intervals, your tires aligned and properly inflated, etc.

    4. Change your car - no matter what you do, a gas fed Tucson will not be as efficient as a diesel Tucson. If you're so concerned about fuel consumption, there are a lot of cars more efficient than a 2-liter gas-guzzling Tucson. If you can't change cars, then just manage your expectations.

Nice bro. How's your city FC?

We just recently got a 2007 Santa Fe CRDi. Haven't gotten the opportunity to do a full tank to full tank computation yet. But rough calculations show only around 5km/L thereabouts. Probably has to do with my lead foot, but I definitely wasn't expecting it to get this low...

city driving it is 4.5-5km/l. average 4.74km/l. very very bad. without A/C it goes as high as 6.3km/l.

take note though, that 4.74km/l average are very short trips to the office. a 5km drive in 30mins. not enough for a good warming up.

Well, considering the size of the engine, I am not surprised at all. Our 2.3L Mazda Tribute gets similar consumption, slightly worse even. And it only has a 4 cylinder engine.

That's quite a big difference with the AC off though. Do you often drive without AC?

since nag start ang cold season, i seldomly use the AC. umaga at hapon naman ang driving ko so hindi ganun kainit. kung short trips yung sa tribute mo bro, i think it is acceptable. computer controlled engines runs rich at cold startup to get to the operating temperature in short time.

correction pala, it was the petron stopover in rosario, la union.
