February 23rd, 2010 12:12 AM #132I drive an accent and so far, it has exceeded my expectation.
In terms of fuel consumption, the accent wins it hands down. Even yung 1.1 getz namin cannot match the 25 km/l mixed highway and city driving. lalo na sa torque.
This car is really highly recommended. Odometer is already at 9000 km (bought the car last May 2009 so almost 10 months na) but still delivers. Lakas humatak:-D

February 23rd, 2010 09:50 AM #133Just an experience to share for my Accent 2008 ODO 60k
High side: the car is now on its 60,000km odo and its still superb in terms of torque and quietness at engine bay. so it seems Hyundai already perfected the technology on the engine side
Low side: The little things that annoys me when my car ONYX reached his 50k km odo, i.e. pedal squick sound both clutch and brakes (thud sound at back wheel when i brake), windows driver side doesn't go up in perfect condition nahuhuli ung isang end but still tolerable hindi halata unless pansinin mo, yung lalagyan ng barya sa taas ng cigarette lighter nag stock up yung spring, replace stock battery with M-gold 2SM, "Loose" feeling of steering wheel when i drive through "rough" pavements or tire humps that is not aligned parang 2 magkasunod layed on the road (i asked the casa to do something abt this and na bawasan naman) ....which i assumed you wont experience on leading car manufacturer on same level, its the minor parts actually.
Bottom line for me...NO question abt the engine technology grabe ang tipid at lakas ng Torque, minor parts are not MAYBE in good quality or hindi na tuunan ng pansin ng R&D. have a safe driving guys...

February 23rd, 2010 11:12 AM #135Nope, but its close. i'm driving Kia Carens 2.0CRDi. also i've test drive a few years back the Accent CRDi model and actually contemplated on acquiring it....but later my needs got bigger so i had to spring for the 7seat van. i thought all the while na sobra matitipid mo sa running cost on these vehicles....kasi nga mas mura ang diesel by around X pesos per liter, and more fuel efficient sya by at least around 20%.... pero u have to pay more for maintenance as i mentioned earlier...
some examples below....
for my case, Kia almost forces you to replace the Air Cleaner Element every 10T Km....where we know the manual says every 20Tkm (Euro duty says even at 40T km....) same goes for Fuel Filter, Cabin filter (but u can buy replacment for this)....and more oil by volume is needed for every change oil too. and if u didn't follow their (much earlier service or parts replacement intervals) they almost threaten ur car would fail earlier because of the CRDI and may not get warranty if something happens. etc. etc.Last edited by parakitoJDM; February 23rd, 2010 at 11:23 AM.

February 24th, 2010 10:26 AM #137This is crap, kalokohan ng casa para kumita. CRDi engine is as tough as the old school diesel engine. The most important to maintain is the cleanliness of the fuel filter and avoid water in diesel oil (water will wreck havoc to all types of fuel injectors). Filters for a/c air suction, engine air intake, etc. can be regularly cleaned without the need for immediate replacement. Oil filter renewal is a must every change oil or 5K km. Ito ang opinion ko sa nakasulat sa itaas.

February 24th, 2010 03:16 PM #138We've been using our Accent for almost 2 years. Mileage is near 30t.
maintenance cost: 3.5T to 5T every 5t
ride comfortability (high/ & ow speed): okay, but not something to rave about. not as smooth as our 9-year old Altis
aircon: cold! level 2 can handle Manila noon-time driving
FC: 13-14k/liter purely city driving
any engine trouble so far? none
The tire size is not common and we can get replacements only from Tireboy.
Post-sales customer service from Commonwealth branch is excellent - we even got a call from them after Ondoy asking us if we needed assistance. And we're not special customers - we only bought 1 car (the Accent) from them. We had to replace our windshield due to an accident and everything went smoothly. My husband said that they were easy to deal with.
We're happy with our Accent and we still think that we made the right decision when we chose it over our other options. At that time, we also considered getting a Lancer, Vios, Yaris or the Honda City.

February 25th, 2010 06:00 PM #139^^I would say that in terms of ride comfort, i tend to agree that accent may have a quite small problem but i think the reason is that the engine is so powerful and the body of the car is light and therefore, damang dama mo yung pag-accelerate nya:-D not really a bad thing but trust me, when you test drive an accent, you will be amazed with the power that this car has. Walang sinabi yung ibang cars namin in terms of the pulling power of this car. as some put it, ridiculously overpowered ang kotse na to kaya sobrang tipid din sa fuel.
Just like Abie, Commonwealth ko din kinuha yung accent ko and yeah, sobrang OK ang after sales service nila. as to the maintenance, I still have free coupons for PARTS and LABOR up to 20,000 km kaya di pa ko nagbabayad ng kahit ano na maintenance cost so I have no way of knowing kung magkano since oil and parts and labor e libre pa.

March 6th, 2010 05:05 PM #140I'm currently here in Istanbul, Turkey for a business trip and had already had 3 occasions riding their taxi...
I have 3 friends...
