February 3rd, 2008 03:28 PM #1Where is the local Honda Civic assembled? If not in Japan, is the quality at par with the Japan-assembled ones and also are the parts made in Japan? thank you

February 3rd, 2008 06:49 PM #2Alam ko dito po ina-assemble ang Civic via their Honda plant here but undergoing Honda Jap QC procedures. Yung parts hindi ako sure pero some are probably from Japan while others malamang iba ibang country na Honda din.

The most likely factory location for South-East Asian Hondas is the plant at Ayutthaya, Thailand. Many of the parts are also sourced from Thailand, but made by Japanese OEM parts makers (Toyoroki, Denso, etc.)
Is it up to Japan's caliber? Let's just say they trust the Thais enough to accept shipments of the City (aka the "Fit Aria") into their borders.

It is assembled from CKD components from Thailand, Malaysia & Indonesia. In a CKD assembly only the key parts are installed (like the engine, transmission, windows, etc.).
In comparison, the Mazda3 is manufactured from the ground up here.
