thanks sir bangad...the reason i asked this is, as far as i know, usually the engine codes for honda cars start with B, like b15, b16, etc...curiously, what 's the difference between PH16 and B16? Thanks again.
OT: sir bangad, are you an ilokano? im an ilokano too, from la union.

Never heard of that one before... but being a "16" I assume its a 1.6 liter engine.
D16 SOHC (ESi?/ HR-V)
D16 SOHC VTEC (VTi)
D16(D16W8) SOHC VTEC-3 (VTi/VTi-S)
B16 DOHC VTEC (SiR/Si)
R16 SOHC i-VTEC (singapore market 8th gen Civic 1.6)Last edited by AG4; September 7th, 2006 at 02:44 PM.

B16 is DOHC.
Since they said the PH16 is the engine of the ESi/VTi, then it must be SOHC.
I always thought the engine of the ESi was the same as the non-VTEC D16A of the HR-V.
I have a feeling the PH16 is basically a D16A (1.6 liter SOHC) which came in both VTEC and non-VTEC versions.Last edited by AG4; September 7th, 2006 at 02:47 PM.
