June 18th, 2007 12:27 PM #11Nabiktima na rin ako dyan, pa left turn ako from shaw going to Edsa pero biglang nagtawiran yung mga tao kaya na stop yung unang car ahead of us, pang apat yata ako run kaya they caught me in the middle "beating the right light daw" sabi ko green pa nung tumawid ako pero red na po ngayon sabi nung dalawang MMDA, I asked kung mag kano violation ko they said mahal daw penalty nun plus seminar, I ask again magkano dapat kung mura lang? We settle for 200pesos...
I don't want to give sana kaya lang MAY PAG ASA PA PO BA SA MGA ENFORCERS NATIN NA CORRUPT? paki sama naman po ito sa report na gagawin nyo.

Hindi ba pwedeng i counter charge mo yung City government for negligence of duty particularly the duty to properly inform the driving public the street is a one way street.
Fat chance you'll win kaya lang the message will be loud and clear. Magastos at abala nga lang.

Stop light in front of heart center sa East Avenue.
If you don't stop (which a lot of cars do anyway) kapag red, hulihin kang beating the red light. I was pulled over even if I was driving on a green light! It was his word against mine, and he asked for my license.
So I asked if they have proof that I did in fact break the red light, and of course he didn't have any. He even commented "Maski nga sa States walang ganyan eh!" to which I laughed out loud and said, "Pare, galing lang ako dun ang dami daming camera sa intersections, mag isip isip ka kung ano sinasabi mo" to which he replies again, "Lisensiya mo ser" I guess dahil wala na ibang masabi.
The "yellow boys" proceeded to ask if I did in fact have my license, so I told him I'll only show it to him (which I did, but never handed it over) and I quickly tucked it back in. He even accused me of calling him a liar, so I told him I never said anything, and that he should not attack me personally. I told him we'll argue all day long and he said "Sige ok lang"
It rained eventually and they "let me go". B*st*ards.
I passed by the intersection today and noticed the yellow boys hiding where the PLDT trucks are parked, after the V Luna (?) intersection. Also noticed that the boys arrive around 8AM.
Do not give in, and if they want the "easy way out" by asking for a bribe, act as if you're flabbergasted and ask them, "Ano bang pangalan mo?" and ask for their ID, etc para matakot yon. Kung di nila ibigay pangalan nila kunan mo ng pic sa camera phone mo.
Just make sure they don't chase you down with the false claim of "running away" from an apprehension.

June 21st, 2007 05:06 PM #16Ayala Avenue corner Makati Avenue, there used to be a "no right turn on red signal" sign here but it's gone now, but if you make a right turn when the traffic light's red there's a bunch of yellow boys waiting just around the corner. No amount of arguing that there's no sign will stop these bastards from issuing you a ticket or asking for a bribe.
South superhighway corner buendia, there's always a bunch of yellow boys hanging around underneath the overpass even on sundays and holidays. One of the main milking cows for kotong cops in makati. The traffic scheme is quite confusing with no lines on the ground designating where you should stop, apprehensions occur on a very frequent basis.

Quezon Avenue intersection going to EDSA. There are 2 two-lane roads with a center island and big signs to segregate the PUVs (left) from the private vehicles (right). Try to pass there at night. The big signs are barely readable from afar. The signs can only be read when you already entered either of the lanes and realize that you're in the wrong lane (if you entered the wrong one) and next thing is a MMDA flagging you down! Private vehicles who enter the PUV lane are apprehended, but PUVs passing the private car lane gets away. Call that MMDA kind of justice!

I read somewhere (I think dito sa din ata sa Tsikot) na basta yellow-box interesection, automatic na "no right turn on red signal" ang pinaiiral. Ay nako, walanghiyang mga yellow boys yan, alligators in yellow kamo. Kaya pag sa Makati eh I see to it na nag-iingat ako sa yellow box. Marami ring tumatambay na MAPSA sa Benavidez cor. Paseo de Roxas (yung kalye ng Asia Tower, leading to Greenbelt). Ultimo weekend may nag-aabang diyan. Just the other week, I was driving there at nakatambay na naman sila dun. That time maluwag na maluwag ang Paseo, hardly a car that morning (around 10). Binusinahan ko at I signalled na I wanted to turn right to Paseo, pinadaan naman ako.
