While I was exiting the parking area, I saw this car in front of me. It had a hook-on bike rack at it's rear. The upper arms (wrapped with cloth) projects out for at least another foot and a half behind from the car. This was taken during the week. Unless this guy uses his bike everyday, there is no reason to have the rack attached to the car all the time... unless he is just plain lazy to remove it after his weekend bike rides.

BTW, I saw another couple of cars doing the same thing but I wasn't able to take a pic that time.

    madami din akong nakikitang ganyan.
i guess, they use their bikes every weekend and hassle pa ang pagkabit and pagtanggal.

But as you can see in the photo, leaving the clip-on bike rack results in car damage.

-deformed plastic bumper where the support rests
-scratch or rust at the hooks of the rack to the trunk lid, car owner had to place some sort of pads.
-scratches where the rack rubs against the car, the car owner had to place rags between the rack & car.

Not to mention it is a traffic hazard for motorcycles, pedestrians because of the two poles projecting out nearly two feet behind the car.

probably he is not concerned on that.
his concern is his image that he is a biker and owns a mountainbike more expensive than his car.

Well its his car, and his time. Can't really judge if he's lazy or not as we all don't know how he runs his life.

Sa mga tawiran along Roxas Blvd from Luneta to CCP.

I think he is concerned enough that he installed pads at the hooks.

I witnessed a scenario wherein the guy crumpled his cars' trunk and bumper after backing into a parking lot wall. He forgot he had an empty bikerack on the back of his car,
