MANILA, Philippines – Police officers are tracking down four suspects in the murder of an assistant manager of Solaire Resort and Casino, an official said yesterday.
Edgel Joy Durolfo’s boyfriend, Rodney Ynchausti, and three others were the persons last seen with her in Room 812 of the Solaire Sky Tower building on Aseana Boulevard in Parañaque, city police chief Senior Superintendent Ariel Andrade said.
Initial police reports said Durolfo, 25, assistant manager for Solaire’s VIP premium services, was allegedly brought to the hotel clinic by Ynchausti and the other suspects, identified only as Paul Egoc, Molo Hwang and Beah Lim, also known as Josiebelle Uy.
The victim, who suffered bruises all over her body, fell into a coma and was transferred to the San Juan de Dios Hospital.
Durolfo’s parents found Ynchausti at the hospital and he apologized to them, police said.
Andrade said the suspects went into hiding after Durolfo died. A medical report shown on GMA 7 stated she died from asphyxia by manual strangulation.
Investigators have asked the hotel for a copy of closed-circuit television footage showing the suspects.
“We are still awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine the cause of the death of the victim,” Andrade said.
In a statement, Solaire said it received a report that Durolfo was rushed to the hospital at around 4:37 a.m. Sunday and declared dead at around 2:50 p.m.
“The family has requested total privacy and does not want us to discuss further details so we must be guided accordingly,” the hotel said, adding that Solaire’s management is extending assistance to Durolfo’s family.
According to a report on dumaguetemetropost.com, Ynchausti was arrested in 2011 for allegedly claiming to be a member of the World Wide Fund and obtaining the credit card information of a dentist by having her accomplish a donation form.

March 3rd, 2016 06:46 PM #7was listening to the news about this yesterday and today. yesterday the police said that SOCO is still doing autopsy on the body. kaya di pa hinuhuli dahil wala pang legal basis for the "foul play", then i heard on the news today na nakalibing na yung babae. im like WTF? ano na nangyari sa autopsy? di man lang naimbitahan sa presinto yung BF and gang nung mga nakaraang araw, dahil nga daw di pa sure kung foul play. also heard on the news na nagsubmit na g statement yung BF and gang kung ano nangyari sa SOLAIRE management! WTF again, nauna pa mag submit ng statement sa solaire kaysa sa pulis.
Pakiramdam ko ang bagal ng mga pulis dito. pag initinertview sila eh ang lalamya ng sagot at puro wala pang ginagawa. and it seems ngayon lang kikilos after giving the suspect a head start.

March 3rd, 2016 07:56 PM #9Feeling ko hindi pa case closed to. Since tapos na autopsy pwede na sigurong ilibing while the police is probably processing the results of the autopsy.
