Stuck in traffic for over 11 hours on a road trip to Baguio, Senator Franklin Drilon is now reportedly asking for a Senate inquiry into the toll collection system of the expressways, which he believes "exacerbated the traffic situation."

According to Inquirer.net, Drilon blamed his 11-hour ordeal on the inefficiency of the toll collection, particularly the need to stop at several tollgates along the way because of the different operators that handled the collection of the fees.

"It's an expressway, but when you get to the tollgate it becomes a barangay road," Drilon reportedly said. "The volume was aggravated by the inefficiencies of the system."

The lawmaker added that it took one hour for him to travel a 2km stretch leading to a tollbooth.

Although Drilon also acknowledged that a lot of vehicles were on the road because of the holidays and the low price of fuel, it was the need to stop and pay the toll fees at different points that worsened the traffic situation.

"I can't understand why the collection of toll fees can't be integrated, so that only one entity handles the collection," Drilon added. "It's not rocket science."

According to the solon, his road trip started at 7am when he left San Juan on December 26 and ended when he reached Baguio at 6:30pm. On the other hand, it supposedly took him less than four hours to travel from Baguio to Manila on December 28, from 5:30am to before 9:30am.

When the Senate resumes its session after the holidays, Drilon said he intends to file a resolution to look into the problems motorists encounter on expressways.

We left baguio yesterday at 2pm took marcos highway since kennon is traffic.

Luckily maluwag sa marcos. Arrived in marilao at 8:30pm.

Pag holiday season nabubulunan talaga tollplaza.

Sana nga no one point of entry and exit na lang mga tollways natin?

the turd pig only reacted when he himself experienced the situation first hand, how about the folks enduring the long ques on the mrt(only grace poe reacted)

same thing with pig turd de venecia, he only reacted when his daughter died from a house fire, realsing fund for the bfp to procure o2 tanks and fire proof gear only after the incident.

    f*ck turd
