While in the UK, they had this program(BBC i think, where topgear came from) that exposes these fraud garages on TV. This program just concentrates on cars. They marked a part of the car that can only be identified by the certified mechanic of the program. They go into a known michievous garage complaining of a problem about the car and act as desperate morons . The mischeivous garage(unknowing of the expose and hidden video) takes advantage of this, and would tell the program that they would replace this and that and would overcharge. After the job, car goes back to the mechanic and checks that parts... of course as expected they were not replaced all documented on hidden camera hehehe.

no wonder Rapide makes a lot of money, as claimed in the other thread... hehe

yes madami tao walang alam sa cars.

and there is the mentality of brand consciousness.

Rapide is well advertised. it has ads in major dailies. its shops have this clean, professional image... the packaging is like the equivalent of a food chain.... so people are drawn to it thinking that di sila lolokohin kasi "mukhang reputable".

grabe. may problema sa "timing"? wierd. baka kasi ang problema e na-"timing" na nasiraan ka sa tapat ng rapide. hehehehe. now that's definitely a big, big problem.

feeling ko naisip nya na baka napatid timing belt mo kaya he went as far as saying na pedeng i-top overhaul. which is logical. pero the symptoms will tell kung anong unang dapat icheck.

dagdag ko pa regarding sa kung bakit may nagpapagawa dun. case in point, bilas ko. nasira aircon. dinala sa rapide. aside from aircon, andami daw nakitang ibang sira. lumaki ng lumaki yung quote sa kanila. nagtanong pa sa akin kung tama yun. sabi ko may suki akong talyer sa banawe which is known to be good dito sa tsikot. at sinabi ko pa na kilalang mapanloko ang rapide. sagot ba naman "ay banawe, baka malagyan pa ng fake parts. gusto ko original." sabi ko e pede namang ikaw ang bumili ng pyesa at ipagawa mo na lang dun at di mo rin masisiguro na original parts ang ilalagay ng rapide. e matigas ulo. ayun, pagawa sya dun. nagreklamo na mahal. tapos after a few months, nasira uli yung aircon. haaaay, di ko na sinumbatan. enough na yung nasira uli.
