Eto malupit, nag overheat makina ko last week. fan problem. so i changed fan motor, sensor sending unit, fan relay, freon, gasket, and had change oil.

After 2 days....

Gumawa sila ng bagong quotation for... P15,000!!!!!! SAbi ko sa sarili ko magrereklamo nalang ako, since sila naman last touch sa auto ko.

    They are aholes!

White or black?
White = your burning oil, hence top overhaul to replace leaking seals, possible thing that happens if the engine overheats long enough.
What you do is, YES, reklamo ka sa Rapide. BUT go to another mechanic to fix it. Might be cheaper pa.

Here is the deal here with rapide....

    1) Rapide has a term they call "GP" which are initials they call as Gross Profit. Except for tires, they always impose a minimum of 51% profit and the people manning the stores are being given about a 2-2.5% commission on their gross sales so that is why:

    A) Rapide is very very expensive
    B) Rapide insists on having your vehicle checked thoroughly even if you only have a small problem with your vehicle. They will try and look for some problems in your vehicle even if there is none and they will tell you that a said part is "SUGGESTED" to be replaced as a form of a disguise. An example will be like if you have a defective radiator cap.....don't be surprised if they tell you that your radiator, auxilliary fan motor, thermoswitch, etc are also defective as well. In other words....kakatayin nila sasakyan niyo para malaki ang kita nila.

    2) I suggest if anyone here in this forum have connections with DTI or media......bust them for overpricing and deception.

    3) If you have any aircon concerns go to FRESCO in Banawe as they are the importers of aircon parts and they do repairs as well.

    4) Suspension Parts and other auto parts they source from mainly Kalentong Auto Supply (531-7148) and Atco Auto Supply (831-6365). Call them and you will be able to compare the price between how much the parts cost and how much rapide charges you.

    5) Tires are also very expensive at Rapide as they only source it from Goodyear Servitek kapitolyo and Quezon Avenue & HH astro. Try call these places and compare the price.

    6) The phone number in their head office is 899-4471 up to 74. You can get in touch with these crooks and you will eventually find out that your complaints though heard will end up with nothing.

Never ever have your vehicles fixed in Rapide. I made the mistake before of having mine "fixed" in Rapide Pasay Road. The one in front of park Square 1. No choice na ako noon and they were the nearest one. Also, it was just a minor palyado problem so I don't think it would be too much of a prob to have it corrected. Malas nila lumaki ako sa auto kasi my lolo was a Mantrade chief mechanic noong pre-war pa and opened one of the first auto supply shops in Pasay right after the war. I told them na imposible iyan kasi kaka change oil/tune up ko lang a few days ago sa aking suking mechanic (Arnel/Tolits of RC Auto in Makati). So tameme sila. Naknampatatas, pagbalik ko a little more than an hour later (sobrang oras pa ang binigay ko ha) eh kinakalikot pa nila. Di daw nila makuha ang timing (I drive a restored KE70). The answer really surprised me "Sir, luma na kasi iyung kotse niyo at mahirap talaga timingan ang karburador." I just told them to "time" it the "best" way they can so I can pay (P400!) and leave asap. The next day I brought the car to my mechanic and he fixed the timing in less than 10mins. Eto pamatay, later that day I received a call from them. Girl and she was doing after service feedback. After a few pleasantries she asked me the question I was waiting for. Siyempre, iyun na pagkakataon kong humirit. I said "Alam mo, miss. Sa tinagal ko sa pagmamaneho at pagma-may ari ng kotse ngayon lang ako nakatapat ng mekanikong kasingbobo ng sa inyo." I actually heard her gasp a little. Haha! I ended saying "Palitan niyo iyang mga mekaniko niyo kundi masisira kayo niyan."

And now that I've read your horror stories. Matagal na pala silang sira. Hahaha! It makes my experience pale in comparison.

My dad told me to try Rapide in Betterliving since the owner was a friend of his (kasama nya sa jogging).

I went and had them check my car. Sira na daw ang compressor and they replaced it, costing me around 16k. Malamig naman ulit ang buga ng aircon so I was satisfied.

The next day when I turned on my car, wala na naman lamig!

I went to their shop again and they said I had a leaking hose. Sabi nila wala daw leak dati.

So I had the hose replaced and my aircon was working again. I was on duty that day so I parked the car on my hospital's parking lot.

The next day wala na naman lamig!!

I went back to their shop again and complained. They'll check it out thoroughly daw and I had to leave my car na.

I left the car in their shop and had to commute for 2 day. On the day I was to get my car, naholdap pa ko sa Cubao. Nakuha cellphone ko na top-of-the-line at the time and 5k I had in my wallet pambayad ng electricity bill.

Pagbalik ko sa Rapide I told them my story. Ang laki nang perwisyo ng ginagawa nila sa kotse ko and I'm not willing to return it should any problems further arise.

The next day wala na naman lamig.

I went to their shop and raised some hell. I had them return my old compressor and give me a full refund for the compressor.

I told my dad my story and he's no longer friends with the owner.

I had the aircon checked at shell sucat. Kalahating araw lang naayos na nila and it lasted me a long time before it had to be serviced again.

    A funny story:

I was having my car tuned up last year at Better living (not Rapide).

I heard one customer say to the mechanic, "Baka parang Rapide kayong magtrabaho, ha!?"

I guess their name's becoming synonymous with overpriced and poor quality work?
