I had it many many years ago. Generally the technology works BUT not worth the money especially with the newer cars where the car was already treated to prevent rust.

no, it will not cure your van of the rust already on the body. It "might" slow down the rusting process but not stop it. Also the electronic rust-o-mizer requires ALL the body panels to be electrically connected together. If a certain body panel is not electrically in contact with the rest, it will not be protected.

Yep, once the rust get into the iron(specially black iron) you can never cure it!!! unless you scratch it and paint it with an anti-rust or a primer!
one thing for sure my cousin had his 01 corolla scraped, painted, rust proofed!!! then we heared about thi "rust o mizer" thing. So we got it installed, then for a year and a half the upper portion, fenders front and rear develops rust!!! (partida alaga pa sa underwash and di pumupunta ng navotas) So one thing for sure this thing doesn't really protect your car!!!

I had a thread on this thing. Aside from rust-o-mizer, there was the original one: "Rust Evader" from the US... then there's the "rust defender", and the local versions "Rust Invader", and the "Rustpoof your car with just 1 (or 2) wires systems"...

Rust Evader in the US got sued. Apparently, the technology doesnt work for cars. It does for boats and underground pipes, but not cars.

I still recall the rust evader booth in the transshow so many years ago: The display unit of Rust Evader showed 2 pieces of metal submerged in salt water. The metal connected to the device had almost no rust while the one which wasnt connected was fully corroded.

A scientist who did studies on the system concluded that itl work if the metal is always underwater (such as the ones in the display model), but since cars arent always under water, it doesnt work. Look up "Rust Evader" in google to find out more regarding this.

Anyway, all other electronic devices which came out after look like rust evader immitations/rip-offs. Their principles are the same, and often sound like they were copied directly from the rust evader literature.

My friend's tita installed one of the local versions on her liteace. When nabangga yung car, rust immediately formed on the bumped part. It made me lose faith in the technology.

For this reason, Rust Evader had to transfer their market outside the US.

Meron ba nabebenta dito sa pinas and saan?

    http://www.webadssa.co.za/ruststop.html

Doon sa Question and Answer portion eh totoo ba talaga hindi nakaka-apekto ito sa electrical system and computer ng kotse?

Kasi parang ok ito tapos may undercoat pa.....

Had a Rust Evader installed before on my 1989 Toyota Corolla GL and found it very effective. Sold the unit in 2000 and it was still rust free (or at least no visible rust even in wheelwells. I had scratched the rear door while parking and didn't bother to have it repainted. It never rusted even until I sold it, so roughly 3 years. I would say from personal experience that it was effective.

Sadly though, don't know where the original supplier went... would want one for my car again. They used to have an office at the "hotel" behind U.P. Diliman.

Anyone knows where he moved to?
