This is great FC for a subcompact car having 10Km/L in heavy traffic route and less than 5000Km odo. WOW! Nice Fiesta!

Good FC indeed. 10km/l is good enough for me

My fuel consumption is pathetic. Had my first re-fill today (after the initial full tank on Nov5 - day I picked up the car). 37.53 liters only registered 257.6 kms. A measly 6.86 kms/liter! Grrr...

Guys, after your full tank, what does your Distance-To-Empty meter show? Yung akin parang 280kms lang.

If this poor performance continues, I may have to reset the ECU (removing fuse for ECU).

    I have the Sport (1.6L Ti-VCT with 6-speed Powershift).

WOAH!!! That really sucks, no offense... What's your driving style may I ask? And how the route you are taking?

haha! mas mataas lang ako sayo ng 1.+ liters! andito yung unang report card ko. to add an insult, i re-filled on the same station & pump! heheheh.

    meter reading: 187.9 km
    full tank: 21.651 l

    fc = 8.67 km/l (mixed city-70% & highway driving-30%)

ok na sakin yan kahit medyo sablay ang error rate. at least meron improvement. haha.

edit: manual computation lang ako kasi 1.6 ps trend lang sakin. hehe

I live in Pasig-Cainta border (Pinagbuhatan, Pasig), where it's riddled with tricycles. I actually go into a sidestreet to get to the office faster, pero tadtad naman nang humps. So I think my Fiesta barely makes it to 3rd gear. Sayang naman gears 4-6.

With my old '92 bigbody GLi (1.6L) my average FC was 5.5-6kms/liter. With my LPG Revo, it's about 3.5-4kms/liter. Talagang hindi fuel efficient ang aking driving environment.

As for driving style, I'm still struggling taming my Fiesta. Pero compared to my driver, mas malayo nararating nang full tank ko, compared to him, assuming we drive the same car through the same route.

Hay... sabi ko nga dati kung maka 8kms/liter ako, satisfied na ako. So may disappointment pa rin. Petron Xtra Unleaded pala gamit ko. Same station (Pasig Blvd, beside Capitol8), pero different pump this time around. Petron lang, kasi dun ang fleet card ko...

I see, sayang fleet card ka pero I have made many studies on fuel and its effect on fuel economy and I am firm believer that Shell Super Unleaded (the cheapest one) returns the best FE. And NO I am not in any way connected to Pilipinas Shell or the Royal Dutch Shell of Netherlands nor do I have investments in them... Just my observation...

Yeah if your area is tadtad ng humps yari talaga fuel economy mo cause you build up speed then you stop again... Gaining speed is the biggest enemy of fuel economy... So try to maintain it so you don't lose momentum, pero given your area mukang mahirap...

Try using gravity to your advantage... What I mean by that is pag down slope na let go of the gas completely and let it glide. By letting go of the gas you close the valves and that will save a lot of fuel...

Other technique like spacing will really help. Put a car's distance between you and the guy in front, hayaan mo na kung may sumiksik pero this improves FE... Anticipation also helps, dapat long sighted ka hehehe... Malayo pa lang nakikita mo na traffic so let go of the gas and let the car glide and let friction stop the car by itself and then kung malapit na then use the brakes to completely stop the car.

On stop lights naman switch to N, unless mabilis lang...

There are more tips I can share, for now yan na muna...

sir, i suggest you use the grade assist. mas mainam yun sa maraming humps. i also think na mas nakakatipid sya sa gas kasi yung tranny tumatalino bigla. yung first gear will only hit 2000-2200 rpm then change na sya kagad sa 2nd (lightfoot only). kapag naka-off yung grade assist, napansin ko na inaabot ako ng 3000 rpm. try mo rin and observe.

looks like an average of 8km/li for the new Fiesta owners except for Paolorenzo...

For the seasoned car owners... reading between the lines, you seem to know that the FC will improve over time (or mileage)... habang break in?

rough estimate, how much FC do you think the Fiesta would have over time?
