Ford Everest 2.2 Titanium VS Montero 2009 SE 3.2
After one over week driving on FE, some city drive and trip to laguna last weekend...
FE is taller than Monty, i 5'8" have to step on side running board to get in.
FE slightly wider than Monty, driver seat i feel little tight.
engine performance.
FE reaction fast at low RPM, better than monty....
i was impress when i drive into Lucky chinatown car park, the car park ramp was quite steep, never need to down shift the gear.
i dont go off road, top speed of my monty was 160KM/H on highway.
i think this FE 2.2 engine perfectly suit my need.
As for FC from Manila to Laguna and back, around 200KM, Monty clock at 15Km/L, FE at 12Km/L, maybe the FE engine still new.
Thing i like on FE.
1, Side mirror welcome light.
2, many light inside cabin.
3, Noise cancellation feature, cabin super silent.
4, comfortable seat. ( after 3 hours drive to laguna.)
5, rear air vent on top the roof. ( Monty at 3 role seat right side only.)
6, BLIS blind spot information system, it indicate when you too close to car in front,or other car too close at the side and rear.
7, Folding Key.
8, 20" mag.
9, Door indication, it clearly indicate which door or tail gate no properly close.
10, two reserve light. ( Monty only have one reserve light at the right rear.)
11, Auto door lock.
12, All door can control center door lock. ( unlike Monty only at driver side )
13, Auto up / Down driver side window. ( Monty only auto down.)
Thing i dislike on FE.
1, Rear view is narrow.
2, Cant upgrade the sound system, sync Gen 2 link to noise cancellation system. ( it will void the warranty)
3, Cant touch or modifly on electrical system, mean cant install extra spot light or LED bar. ( it will void the warranty )
4, No center ash stray, no place to keep loose item. ( Monty have center ash stray, center arm rest is two layer.)
5, Auto climate system not so sensitive like Monty.
6, Driver view no so good due to hook design, from driver to right front bumper is longer than Monty, but thanks to BLIS.
The above is my own personal view, Thank you.

You can still add a led bar... Just it directly to the battery... Then signal nalang kukunin sa Park light mo..

October 10th, 2015 09:58 PM #896I agree...I think yung may bad experience sa 2.2 ng Ranger mostly sa manual tranny probably because it may have lower torque than same engine with automatic tranny and that is to protect the drivetrain just like what other manufacturers do. But nevertheless whether 3.2 or 2.2 the Ranger has same maximum payload and towing capacity it's all up to preferences and intended use, I have 2 friends with Wildtrak 3.2 they both complain of FC on city driving I said I'm very satisfied with my 2.2 XLT Auto I regularly use it to haul 800kgs and I don't feel it's underpowered kahit sa paakyat sa bituka ng manok on the way to Camsur.
It gets the job done and it can easily overtake on long drives even with load and full seating capacity. What's good with auto is the sports mode as it learns your driving style and you really don't need to downshift manually even going downhill plus it shifts faster than using it manually, kaya I believe that 2.2 Everest automatic can handle what it's built to do efficiently.
Now with AWD 3.2 it's obviously better because of the terrain management but you certainly won't need it in city driving and expect to visit fuel stations more than the Ranger 3.2 because it's heavier and again it's AWD plus the extra liters of oil you need every PMS.
Bottom line is choose what suits your need, if you do a lot of road trips and would like to play on sand dunes and rough terrain then AWD 3.2 is will certainly put a smile on your face

October 11th, 2015 12:52 PM #897Good day kapwa tsikoteers!
Just want to ask a question, Im planning on getting a Ford Everest 3.2L 4x4 in the very near future.
I test drove the 2.2 M/T yesterday and i can say that it is strong, though im not impressed thats why i opted for the 3.2L.
Steering is really soft at dead stops but gets tight as you move fast. - this feature i really like
Ride is ok and the seats are comfortable.
The digital tachometer is a bit "laggy" or slow though
Anyway, does anyone here have any first hand experience with Ford Everest's 3.2L in terms of FC and power? in real world performance is the 3.2L worth the jump from the 2.2?
BTW ill be using it as my everyday car in Baguio, with of course some occasional roadtrips out of town.

pahirapan sumakay sa 3rd row di pala na fumble 2nd row seat, at natakot pa akong hatakin yung
adjustment ng 2nd row seat para makababa mula sa last row, akala ko mapuputol ko yung adjuster😄
