September 19th, 2012 10:52 AM #64Loved this car even before it entered our shores. One thing that worries me though is that I read some DCT issues on US models way back. I wonder if the ASEAN models fixed this.

Yung park assist will only benefit the new drivers. Sa mga experienced drivers, it's an unnecessary feature.

The US was one of the early markets for the new Focus, what they did was recalibrated the Powertrain Control Module for "smoother accelerations, reduced hesitation, better low-speed driveability and improved shift scheduling"
According to an Australian comparison test (Astra, Cruze, Focus, Golf) by Drive (they also get Thai-sourced Focus models in Australia) "the Ford Focus is refined, sophisticated, easy to drive, easy to live with, right standard equipment, and it has that brilliant DSG gearbox. For our money, it takes home the gold"

September 19th, 2012 01:21 PM #69Thanks for the apt response. Focus is definitely on my radar for next year. Although, I do hope that Ford would have another trim between Trend and Sport+. The difference between them just too big. Say for example a trim like the Sport+ but without the Active City Park, Stop, Grill Shutter, Blind Spot Notification System, and Sun Roof would be great.

For the local/ASEAN Focus, the BLIS feature is exclusive for the Titanium +.
In other markets like Thailand, they offer lower non-plus "Sport" and "Titanium" models.
Compared to the "plus" models, these models don't come with some features like Active Park Assist, Active City Stop, Power-tilt Sunroof, Auto on/off HID headlights with LED stripe light, Rain-sensing wipers, curtain airbags (side airbags are still standard).
A model like this could easily cost about P100K less, but no news yet if they will introduce these models here.
The Sport + and Titanium + costs P1,199,000.Last edited by AG4; September 19th, 2012 at 02:53 PM.
